    Quick question about John

    Did a bit of searching around and couldn't find an answer to this. At the beginning of ASiP, how long ago has John been invalided from Afghanistan? Do we know, or is this detail left vague?

    I think it is never mentioned. Not too long, I would say, since he says he cannot afford London on an army pension.
