Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I also wonder why that can't be the Watsons' car. The only other possibility is that it's Sherlock's. Or did Sherlock steal one for them since it was an emergency?
Maybe setlockers mean it didn't look like their car from S3?

Still a wonderful experience for Sherlock! And like Mofftiss said, they like to put him in awkward situations he never was in before.

Oh the possibilities!..

If we see a birth scene, and I cannot imagine we will, it would be funny if Sherlock faints.

I really hope and have my fingers crossed that they won´t make him that inept and stupid.

If a man can handle the photos of gruesome murders, surely he can look at the woman giving birth without fainting.

Really, such scene would give nothing to his character, just further ridicule.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

This is all very confusing. It seems that in the tunnel scene Mary is wearing the same blouse she wore the rest of the week. Which would mean - assuming she gave indeed birth in the car - that she was either still wearing her maternity clothes months after the birth. And there have been contradictory information about her hairstyle as well. There was a selfie by someone taken in the tunnel in which her hair was straight the way it was in HLV. Other sources say she had the curls in the tunnel scene. Trying to wrap my head around this.

I wonder why Sherlock was driving them into hospital (presumably). Does he work as their personal driver now instead as a detective?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

We do not know what will happen with this scene. We have often been surprised how scenes are later on inserted into the narrative. And let us not forget the shark graffiti and the fact that costumes and hairstyle do not seem to add up.

Yeah but exactly that would be the fun in it, that he has seen all that stuff but faints when someone giving birth.  Apart from that I wouldn't think of him as inept and stupid if he faints watching a birth. Won't happen anyway.

Maybe one of them dreams the tunnel scene or something like that.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I don't think we will get much of a birth scene. Remember the wedding - supposedly one of the biggest events in the relationship between John and Mary. And we don't even get to see the wedding itself, neither do we get any romantic scenes between the couple in their own wedding. The focus is on Sherlock (and John).

So it makes sense to me that either the birth is done off-screen, or - if it is on-screen - it will have Sherlock in focus. They have made it clear, and shown it several times, that the main focus of the show is Sherlock and his relationship with John. Not John and Mary. When not even their wedding focused on them, I don't think the birth and baby will either.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

We also have to remember that even though it seems like we're getting a lot of information it's really just the tip of the iceberg.  There are so many layers to any story in Sherlock we cannot judge the whole series by the bits and pieces we get from Setlock.

And as has been mentioned before, it could take them hours to film something that only takes up a couple of minutes of screen time.  We can't give any one photo from the set too much weight at this time.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Very true. Some of the stuff we've seen so far might not even make it to the final cut. And, for instance, spending an entire day walking all over London with the dog will probably end up as a few minutes of screen time.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I think this is really cool.  Did we really expect that Mary would have a nice dull delivery in the hospital in a show like this.  The crazier and unexpected the better is the motto of this show. And John is a doctor so I wouldn't exactly call him a midwife - more an obstetrician.

Here is a better version of yesterday's scene in front of the house:

John seems to be surprised to find Mary there, Sherlock probably knows. I thought heard/something like "What are you doing here?" but I could be mistaken.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Phew.
I actually meant to comment on Mary's pregnant belly today and forget...rather glad I did now.
This all makes more sense...
I'm wondering if John wasn't expecting Mary there,as she was was supposed to be resting up. So she goes with them  anyway and then goes into labour?
