Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I also heard that about casting twin infants... but who knows what their real reason is!

Wonder who the little girl is? Little Miss Watson https://twitter.com/...069746515804160
Sherlock seems cozy with the little girl. A setlocker reported that yesterday's filming involved Sherlock smiling at the little girl and the little girl with pigtails running circles around him. Sadly no photography was allowed. Wonder what big spoiler is waiting.
There is another speculation going on- are they adapting The Priory School? Apparently that story involves children went missing.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

It doesn't work for me either, unfortunately.  I'll have to do some detective work!

Edit: I found this, but I don't know how to tell if it's true or not!  http://fandomsdogsandvolleyball.tumblr.com/post/146909659122/setlock-040716-location-2
The person watching said it looked like mind palace, that Sherlock appeared to be deducing.  It reminds me a little of the scene with Irene deducing the hiker in ASIB.  (Although just because it looks like mind palace, doesn't mean it is!).

Could it be Sherlock trying to deduce Mary's past?  Or perhaps try to track down a missing child (baby Watson?)?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Since there has been confirmation of Benedict and Mark being present and signing autographs, this report might well be true.

I do not think the child is the Watson daughter. I do not see them stretching this story over three episodes. And I do not believe that Mary is a Holmes relative either. The fact that Sherlock and Mycroft both are present, however, might hint that it is about their own backstory. Could the girl be their mother or sister?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Interestingly there doesn't seem to be a lake at Ogmore castle, although I'll look into that some more in case I got the wrong place (Wales is overrun with castles!).  There is a wide, slow river, though, which would look a bit like a lake. (But maybe slightly odd that a setlocker on the scene wouldn't notice that it was a river?)

Yes, could be a sister or family member (the other one?).   But why specify blonde hair and blue eyes, unless there's a reason? (Sherlock has dark hair, so the child wouldn't need to be blonde to look like a sister).  The main reason I can think is that it's a character who we already know (Mary, maybe Sian's character, Sherlock's mother, etc.) or of course, because they'd expect a child of John and Mary to have that colouring.  Of those, Sherlock's mother would definitely need blue eyes as Wanda's are so striking!

It does seem a huge jump to go ahead three years over the course of the series, but it could be possible - otherwise they're going to end up further and further behind (TAB only moved things on a few minutes!).  Although I don't know if that actually matters.  I think it really depends on what story they're telling.   If mind palace, it could be a flash forward, of course.   Also, I don't know if this is at all likely, but maybe they could be filming a couple of scenes in advance for some reason, for S5?  I suspect not.

Small children near water always makes me worry about drowning.  I wonder if that's the reason for the "lake"?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

This is all quite confusing. I think we have to take the girl scene with a grain of salt. It seems confirmed that Benedict and Mark were filming but we have only this one report about the little girl. And to understand what someone is saying but not being able to take a single pic - well. We have hundreds of setlock photos and videos from various people so this seems a bit doubtful.
I find it difficult to estimate a child's age but 2/3 or 3/4 is quite difference at that age. I think we will have to wait if there will be more evidence.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Yes, thinking of it, it does seem odd that the person would hear that one word (Mary) and for it to be such a significant one (the name of major character).    And maybe I'm being overly suspicious, but if somebody just searched for the castle it does look as if it has a lake outside in some of the pictures.  This is the first that came up for me:

But you'd think that somebody on the scene would see it was a river.

So it could be that somebody just looked at the first picture and saw a lake, but wasn't actually at the scene.  But why would anybody make up a scene like that (why does anybody do anything?)?  It could just be a mistake.  The person does say that they weren't allowed to take pictures.  If there were other setlockers there getting autographs, hopefully we'll hear more details soon.

Lovely setting.  I'm so looking forward to seeing the finished product and where all these Setlock scenes fit in to the story!

The scenery is amazing! And there are still signs up this morning so maybe we will get more information from the location.

How would a setlocker notice blue eyes from afar?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Yes, there seems to be something fishy about that post. I think so far we only know for certain that Benedict and Martin were filming at this location. The casting call was just published, so they could not possibly have found a child actor so quickly.

What I find interesting is the focus on children in series 4: casting call for the newborn, young Sherlock, and now the little girls at three different ages. For me it speaks of going back in time, solving things that happened in the past.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Yes, there does seem to be a time element .. ghosts coming back in S4.  Very exciting!

It was me (not the setlocker) who mentioned the blue eyes, because apparently the casting call had specified hair and eye colour, and the setlocker just noticed the hair colour.

I agree that there is a big difference between a 2/3 year old and a 3/4 year old, particularly between age 2 and 4.   I think it might be difficult to direct a two year old to do a scene like that, but not so much for a four year old.  However, the casting call was for a 2/3 year old, wasn't it, so they thought a two year old would be fine for what they had to do?  A four year old, speaking lines, is maybe not a child who has just been found in a day.   I also wondered about pigtails - not so common on a two year old (they often don't have very long hair to braid, or the patience to have it braided), but much more likely on a four year old.   Of course, they could already have cast the 3/4 year old, who could be a talented child actor, and then done the casting call for some unrelated scenes (but perhaps the same child at different ages).

I'm sure there was some discussion pages ago about Sian's (blonde, blue-eyed) character possibly being a ghost from the past?  A sister?  Some accident that caused her limp?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I wonder if those blue covers on Molly's/Lou's feet are for the scene, or to protect her shoes between takes? is she wearing a rope to keep herself warm?

Who cares?   ANDREW!
Though I suspect it will be MP or flashback.
Or does 'R' stand for Richard?

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Somehow I'm not surprised about Andrew.  I'd have a feeling they'd use him, even if it is just mind palace or flashback.  And it doesn't even need be - it keeps niggling me that they've kind of left it open for him to come back (as TAB really just showed how to fake a similar death!).

What Molly's overshoes make me think of is places where there's a risk of contamination - isolation wards, some labs, etc where there is a transmittable disease, or dangerous substances, or they're trying to manufacture something cleanly, etc.  Although I agree, that given she's a pathologist, a crime scene would fit better.

Wasn't there a teddy bear or a doll tweeted before TAB too?  I must look it up - I only have a vague memory and think it was kind of creepy?  And there was the children's ward setlock in Ep2.

The girl going round and round makes me think more of Ring-a-ring-a-roses, which was (apocryphylly?) associated with the plague or Black Death.  (I'm sorry, I can't seem to tear myself away from the medical theme of Ep 2!).  Round and Round the garden is done on the hand and is a tickling rhyme, so doesn't seem to fit so well ... although it could do.  Was it overheard?

Anyway, it Moriarty's involved, it would be just like him to quote a nursery rhyme.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

On the Andrew thing...not that I'm obsessed or anything,
But what I got from TAB was that the original bride(Moriarty) committed suicide, but spawned an army of followers who perpetuated copy cat crimes.
