(btw: thanks for the previous relocation!)
Just got in from seeing this.
My first time of seeing Mark in a play, having been devastated at missing him as Charles I.
I really enjoyed this.
Mark was excellent in it, really played to his strengths: great use of language, humour and physicality.
Oh and he sings a Russian song beautifully!
A good crowd too, so obviously the NT was justified in extending the run.
I was personally pleased for Mark, after the poor turn out for him last night.
So here endeth my three nights in a row with Mark and what a joy it has been.

Oh, what happened last night?
Jealous about people seeing the play. He looks great in the photos.

Sorry, it was on the other thread I posted(which ended up on this board) last night...
I saw Mark at a poetry reading and the theatre was half empty...a crying shame for such a good event.
My pal wasn't actually keen on the play tonight, but I thought it was a triumph for Mark.

I see Mark won the ' What's on Stage' award for best support actor for this.
Good on him.
The role was designed for him: a mixture of physical comedy and word play.

Well done, Mark! I wish I'd been able to see it!

I was so lucky they extended the run for when I was last down in London...what a trip that was: seeing Mark twice AND Benedict in Hamlet...
I can't help but feel next month's trip may be a bit of an anti-climax after that!

Fantastic.
Richly deserved.
The part really could have been written for him.

People are such prats...how hard is it to get Mark Gatiss correct?!

I could not find where his name is spelt incorrectly, but that is indeed unfortunate!

Well I didn't see the announcement tweet, so neither did I!

I don't get it, either. I said Gay-tiss before I even heard it. It would be two "t" if it were Gatt-iss. And I must say I think it's a bit unprofessional when you announce nominees not to get there names right, he even is British for Gods sake.

Even English(Ha )...though he's a Durhamite!(Bit of a Yorkshire in-joke there)

This was actually a mispronunciation You can watch/hear it here.

Even worse!

I'll admit I thought that was how his name was pronounced until I heard someone pronounce it correctly in a behind the scenes video or an interview or something, but if you're going to be announcing, you'd think they'd be sure they've got the names right...

Just hope it brings him luck.

I don't know if it's that obvious. I've heard it pronounced "Gatiss" before. "Data" can be pronounced in different ways. Maybe the announcer just thought the "Gat" was like the "gat" in "gateau" and didn't think there might be another pronunciation. I agree that he should have got it right, though!
