Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

Haha, and what do we say about coincidence?

Russel you posted the main ones, there's a few where he's in the background though... and then there's the bio about him. Mainly about his works in TV, Theater and film...

I am usually against buying expensive programmes for shows... but I am happy I did decide to buy this one.

Gah, Phantom… now I can't stop wanting to picture that!  ;D

There are funny coincidences sometimes... While browsing through the last posts of this thread my radio just starts playing Thriller

Seriously?     Great… now I have that song, with that cast dancing (although Ben dressed as Frankenstein's Creature makes it even better), in my head all day.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

By the way, do you know if, aside from the programme, they're also selling the play?
I bought Richard III last time because of reasons...and I wonder whether they'd also sell Hamlet.

Seriously???

I didn't see them selling the play, but I can't be sure they didn't. But every 2 meters you would bump into someone waving the programme...

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

That's what I've read, anyway...inconsiderate, rude, more than "not good", disrespectful...

Well, I'll oviously be buying the programme, and have a look whether they sell the play as well. If they don't, the programme will be nice to have (understatement, yes, I know).

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

I actually think the programme is worth the £8. Like I said before I'm usually against paying for those expensive programmes... but well... BEN!

And also, it seems he's doing the stage door every night now, so all of you who'se going should have a chance to get it signed... (I am really trying not to be jealous and mad at myself for not sticking around after despite my bleeding foot and all. Gah.)

But I think he only really started doing it after he had to give his 'Please dont film' speech, right? As a way to soothe the fans...

Ah well. I don't plan on this being the last time in my life I see Benedict.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

No, no, you're quite right. That's a good plan to make.
I wouldn't buy a programme either...except, well, as you said : BEN

As for the stage door...well, if folks continue on being...disrespectful...I don't think he'll continue.
And I'm sure that if people doing the stage door in the hopes to see Ben/have his autograph/take a picture (NOT a sneacky one, we all know how he doesn't like that) disturb the peace of the street he'll stop it altogether.
Why can't people behave?

Lily, I checked the shop at the Barbican and they seem to sell the play.

Just buy yourself a good copy of The Complete Works.     If you have an ereader you can get it from amazon pretty cheap.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

I imagine you can read Hamlet in its entirety in many places on the internet, for free. Or read it the old-fashioned way, by going to your local library and finding it there, also for free.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

Oh, I already have a copy.
And the Complete works, too (though they're "somewhere in the attic"...*sigh*).
I wondered whether they sold one with the cast on the cover^^
Oh, well, I suppose I'll take my copy with, then. Not that it's heavy, after all.

I know it's illogical, but I don't like the idea of an e-reader. Sure, you can have TONS of books and reading material and it won't weight more than, what? 500g? But the problem is that you can't turn pages. You can't smell the book. I'd rather have the real thing.
Told you it was not logical.

I totally understand your feelings and I could never give up "real" books.  However, I also love technology so I feel, why not both!!!  I do love the fact that I have over 100 books sitting in my purse.  Including all 7 Harry Potter books.  This makes me happy.
