I really like the first pic and wonder a little why we get to see so many of Martin (not complaining here).

I've just noticed that what he is wearing there seems to be the same as he's wearing in the Czech trailer when the bullet is flying towards him, same shirt, scarf and gloves.

Is it too late now, or can I watch the Czech trailer, too? I never got to see it. Also, I don't suppose there's a preview for Episode 1 as yet.

I'm very excited about DI Hopkins but I'll miss Sally a lot. When Moftiss said they had to remove the scenes with Sally taunting Sherlock due to scheduling I didn't think they removed her altogether O.o

I wonder what the new addition will be like. She can't be like Sally or Greg. She looks very no-nonsense. Apart from that, I've got nuthin...

I love the John and Mary one. Really interesting pose. It looks as if she is leading and he won't follow, or alternatively that she is trying to get away and he is pulling her back.

I like this one too. I'm actually worried about Mary in S4. She looks kind of fragile in many of the shots, despite the suit, and there's a poignant feel to the pictures. Maybe it's because we know she's not likely to last the series!

Introducing a new character at this stage... tricky thing. She probably won't have that much screen time anyway, but even if she had, people will certainly concentrate on lots of other things. Except of course she plays a more important role (in the overall story) than Sally did.
People on tumblr are already talking about her possibly being a LGB character, connecting her to Molly...

I don't think the show needs any more LGB representation (my poor colleagues, whom I harass on a regular basis with my little *ohm* obsession, refer to it colloquially as "that gay show"), but I wonder especially about Molly. How did she get dragged in into that theory?..

Dunno... the second one looks more like Sally to me, the first one like Kitty.

Making all of them John's girlfiends would be very (too?) johnlocky!

Possibly, although I'm still not 100% sure. Mary makes sense (being a nurse), but Sarah was a doctor, and wasn't Jeanette a teacher? I'm not sure why Sherlock would see them as nurses (assuming this is mind palace, which I do keep assuming - I would be surprised and delighted to find out that it isn't!). I'm really, really curious about this scene!

I agree, all of the promo photos are beautifully shot and definitely interestingly staged, they've definitely had an impact and got us all talking and analysing them!

I'm thinking the scene with the nurses is MP and they do look similar to John's exes (hint for Mary's fate?) and Mary and you know what they say about coincidences haha but who knows.

Actually, I don't think there's a huge amount of LGB representation! There's Irene, the landlords at the inn, Connie Prince's brother, all just one episode each. Have I missed anyone? I suppose there's Harry, but she hasn't actually been in the show so far. I head canon Mycroft and Moriarty as gay, but they haven't definitely been shown as such (yet). I know that anybody could be possibly bi, but usually they've shown opposite sex pairings - LeStrade seems to fancy Molly, Molly fancies Sherlock and Sherlock substitutes, Mrs Hudson dates a man, Donovan and Anderson had a fling, Lady Smallwood has a husband, etc. It seems that so far only single episode characters have been shown as definitely LGB, so there's certainly room for another one, particularly a recurring character.

I wonder if that's the reason Molly is part of the theory - simply because she is a recurring character.
