I just read some discussion on tumblr of how Martin has been completely absent from anything Sherlock for … how long? No interviews, no cons, he was only in one promo pic so far. I do not wish to stir any panic but when did we last hear Martin talk about his involvement with the show? Post-series 3?
But didn´t Martin confess somewhere that cons, such interviews and the like are not his thing? Or do I remember it wrong?
It´s true that he participated in interviews a lot pre series 3... but maybe he´s just tired of repeating same things about the show over and over (considering he can´t spoil the thing)?

Maybe he was also asked to step back a little to fume speculations about the dark aspects of S4.

I can't remember. But Amanda Abbington seems to have done enough promo and appearances for both of them.

Well, the one they gave us is 1.32 long, so this will pass as a proper trailer, I suppose. Which does not mean I do not want more. 
That said I have the feeling that we will get next to no information. There seems to be no preview for 1 and 2 for instance. Not even a short summary of any of the episodes. Just allusions and hints and stuff that may be several months old. I think episode 1 and 2 will be so spectacularly surprising that they will not give anything away. The team itself have not given us ANY information about what is going to happen except chickens coming to roost and "consequences".
