If Khan and Martin Crief had a baby, they would name him SHERLOCK.
Khan - Brilliant, obsessive, unemotional, physical, beautiful
Martin - Vain, childish, funny
Sherlock is really the perfect role for Benedict - and of course he is the perfect actor for this role - because he is able to show is amazing range and sensitivity. I have rarely seen an actor so skilled at making a character's soul visible, with just those micro-expressions and that lovely versatile voice.

Khan, unemotional?
I know what you mean though - outwardly unemotional, both Khan and Sherlock control and hide their emotions.
Sherlock wouldn't be such a great character if he was all Khan and no Martin. I agree that Benedict is brilliant - especially as he has to act hiding what he's feeling and thinking a lot of the time. So while he gets the chance to be delightfully over-the-top some of the time, he sometimes has to be very subtle and guarded.
