Mansfield Park

If anyone is interested and has BBC player for radio, this is being serialised on 4 extra.
Episodes 1 and 2 are already up, with a young sounding Benedict playing Edmund and David Tennant as his older Brother.

Re: Mansfield Park

It's great, thanks for the information. I really enjoyed it as I love Jane Austen. You can listen to it here (5 days left to listen): http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0076gxs

thanks pav - I'm stupid at posting links!
Yes, it's a really good production; I love the subtle humour in Jane Austen's novels

Re: Mansfield Park

I've been listening to Mansfield Park. Very enjoyable and properly Jane Austen-ish. But on first listen I thought Sir Thomas was voiced by Benedict! Then I heard Edmund. Did Ben voice both, by any chance?

Re: Mansfield Park

I thought the same Polar! But no - Sir Thomas is played by Tim Piggot-Smith. (And Mr. Rushworth is Toby Jones, who was also in TTSS and Creation and Amazing Grace with Benedict).

Re: Mansfield Park

Just finished listening to the whole thing and Benedict is just fantastic.  Hard to believe they were all just standing in a studio and not acting it all out, the imagery created was amazing.

Awww and when his character talked about being in love it just melted my heart, so adorable

Re: Mansfield Park

I've just finished listening to it too! Wonderful. Wished there was more David Tennant though but everyone captured their characters wonderfully! Really a good listen, and it got better and better towards the end.
