I have this thing with naming inanimate objects that I have a special kind of "connection" to, like my computers or my car. And usually it's a name of a fictional character -- one I like from a fandom that I'm active in.
I'm currently in the process of purchasing a new laptop, and... it'll need a name. So I'm trying to think of something that's not too obvious, because I don't want it to be Sherlock or John or, I don't know, Mycroft. Hamish might be an option. Scott is out, since one of my bosses is called that, and I don't really like William.
It doesn't have to be Sherlock related, it could also be... Khan? (Fast, strong, better. At everything.
)
Can't be James, I don't want it to die. ![]()
Tietjens just sounds weird, and Christopher is so.... ordinary.
I need suggestions, dear Ben fans. Wild and creative ideas are encouraged.

OMG Yay I'm not the only who does that!
I love Khan as a name, I would go for that! Like you said, it's better at everything!

Stuart- although it may make your laptop a bit unpredictable.

Hawking. Definitely.

Turing, definitely.

All great choices.
Stuart? Well, that's not a Ben character now is it? It'd have to be Alexander. I don't know. <Sherlock voice> Boring. ![]()
Hawking might be a good candidate. Stephen. Let me think about that one.
Julian... Hm... Nah, he was a bit of a sociopathic jerk. ![]()
Don't know about Turing, I'd prefer for it to be something I've already seen. Keep going. ![]()

Er Turing= computers!

Yeah, the significance is certainly there, but, well, how do I explain this? If I'm gonna name a thing that I'm likely going to be using for years to come, I'd like for it to have a name that has a definite positive connotation for me. And without having seen the movie, how would I know? Does that make any sense?

Or Christopher, or Lil Charles?!

Talbot? Tempting... Though somehow not the most loveable guy either. ![]()
Little Charles is also tempting. Chrissy... not so much. ;-P
Gosh, how do I choose?

Maybe you'll know it when you have it in your hands? That's how my laptop got her name... Chloe. It just sort of happened
