    Hope all you girls enjoy your holidays! I feel like the only person in the world who's not going on holidays or even having the time off... 


    I'm currently in my old bedroom at my mother's house supposed to be asleep but not tired... I'm supposed to babysit the pets tomorrow when my mother is out of the house all day... 

    Well all that is left of my old room is my bed and the sheets... white and black with skulls! I used to switch between these and the Pirates of the Caribbean ones...

    I'm self-employed, so I usually work 70 to 100-hour weeks. Most of my work is emotionally draining, so I make it a point to take one real vacation a year, even if it's just four or five days, where I disconnect, don't get on a computer, and just spend time with friends forgetting about all the ugliness in the world and the sick things people do to each other.

    Sadly being on benefits despite having a full work week at the hospital I'm not allowed time off... Luckily I've had my hours reduced a bit now so I now have a prolonged weekend starting Monday.

    Had my back not been such a mess it would be fine I suppose... but I'm worn out. Luckily for me most of the doctors I work for are all on vacation from Monday so I barely have any work to do and I do get sent home early once in a while.

    Right now I'm reading up on OGTT's as I'm starting to get a bit nervous about volunteering to be a test subject for the new Oral Glucose Tolerance Test procedures at work. It was my idea to test it out on some of us and I offered myself before we started seeing the kids. I wasn't aware it meant I had to fast first, not being allowed to take my pain relief... I was aware it meant a lot of blood tests for 3 hours... oh well. It's all for the kids and we're only 2 people on the entire ward who aren't afraid of needles. And who knows, maybe they will remember that I gave that much of myself and actually employ me some day. One of the doctors told me yesterday he was really impressed.

    Right now I'm still pretty drunk as I just got home from a night of surprise partying...

    Right now I'm working from home...
    Prepping lab equipment... as in putting labels on cryo tubes and putting them in the right order in yellow plastic boxes...

    In my defence it was a 2pm meal, BB  And I've never tasted a cucumber sandwich before...



    Right now I'm cooking Fish and Chips while prepping some medical lab equipment at my dining table...
