It's without a doubt a true discovery, that music and those lyrics really touch your soul... I listened to it without end yesterday evening.

My favourite Elbow song, and it's hard to choose, I think is Mirrorball, it does make me cry as it's so beautiful. The lyrics ......*sigh*
I plant the kind of kiss
That wouldn't wake a baby
On the self-same face
The wouldn't let me sleep
And the street is singing with my feet
And dawn gives me a shadow I know to be taller
All down to you dear
Everything has changed
My sorry name has made it to graffiti
I was looking for someone to complete me
Not anymore dear
Everything has changed
And we make the moon our mirror ball
The street's an empty stage
The city's sirens, violins
Everything has changed
So lift off love
So lift off love
And we took the town to town last night
We kissed like we invented it
And now I know what every step is for
To lead me to your door
Know that while you sleep
Everything has changed
........
Absolute genius.

Isn't it lovely when you discover new music?
Benedict has a lot to be responsible for eh?

I need to do a research at home. Of course I can't open the youtube link. The GEMA stuff, you know, Solar ...

He's finding a lot of new fans for a lot of bands and authors!;)
I've had crushes before of course but never have any of them inspired my musical choices and made me seek out poetry, literature and the arts generally, in the way this man does!!

That's weird, I can open it...? Or is it because of your computer at work?
And yes, clare, discovering new music always is an adventure... and quite often not all that healthy for my budget...

Heh… after hearing all the music chatter recently, I finally looked to see if my library had anything, to try out first/see why so good, by artists mentioned (nicer than slowly loading a ton of varying music vids). They had one thing each by Elbow, and Sigur Ros, believe it or not, now on their way to my branch.

Right. Sorry, what I can't open is the link for Daft Punk. Elbow I can open. Thank you for the other link, clare. Waiting for a quite moment now to listen to it ... here in the office.

I'm warning you, gently, you just might not be able to stop listening to this...

Hmm ... have to take the risk.

For anyone with BBC2, the longer version of Jools Holland's show, with Elbow, is shown on Friday evening.
They performed twice but I missed the beginning of the show, so I don't know what their first song was.

The coming Friday?

Had the chance to listen to it. Well, it's nice ... but I have to say ... all in all not my taste of music. Sorry.
But somehow I am glad to say that I don't adore everything regarding Benedict. Saves at least a little bit of my autonomy.

Just happens to be my sort of band!
