Thank you Clare! Aw bless him!
And yes, why isn't this a film everyone knows? It's too good and well made... the theme as well is something everyone should watch at least...
They really need to get this released in the US on DVD. Right now it's only available in the UK format.

*grins and thumbs up at Zatoichi* (hee… one of my favorite words, too… 'adorkable')
Sigh… yeah… and I concur with everyone about the video… seen it accidentally myself, but yeah, a shame. At least the majority of fans understand about it, mm?
Definitely 'yes' to Solar's 'smart cookie' comment… and ha, yes, to clare… oh trust me, I gush! Just not always as chatty (or in-the-moment) as you guys!

Echoing the frustration of others here - he doesn't get the credit he deserves for his actng.
He gives so much to every role he plays and has some really great performances on his CV, yet people still write about him as if he's just sort of accidentally got famous - grrrr!!!

That's how I started my working day with a laugh:
Benedict: Can I get some water please?
Guy in audience: Aww
Benedict (in a high pitched voice): Aww he’s thirsty. He’s just like us!

LOL. And he's absolutely right. Some admiring is a bit ... overreacted. I AM totally crazy about him but I wouldn't ... AW ... on every single word.

Tee hee.. *chuckle*
He´s thirsty, he´s just like us and he doesn´t take all the circus too serious.. Aww, he´s just perfect *swoon, thud*

You wouldn't...? I would!
(So I guess we can't go to Berlin - or wherever - together, because if you don't AW and WOO all the time that just ruins my AWing and WOOing. )

Well, tbh the last year was his most successful I think. Before it he was famous for Sherlock but not everywhere on the same level. Roles like Khan and Smaug and his appearance in 12 Years ... put a bigger focus on him.
Yes, he acted brilliantly before but the audience for these weren't that big and also not spread around the world.
I had to smile as this guy from the BAFTA IN CONVERSATION interview introduced Benedict. Something like "a guy relatively new to acting".

When he ask for a bottle of water? Oh God, Solar, how old are you?
And yes we can't go together then. Because I want to try at least to understand what he says. Impossible with you next to me AWing and WOOing all the time.

Oh, shut up, gently.
And btw, I already demonstrated at one occasion how well-behaved I am in the presence of the man.

Well, YOU said you would AW and WOO all the time. Not me.
I am sure we will find a compromise ... if we will ever meet this man together.

Well, YOU should know by now when I'm joking and when I'm being serious.

Ok, too much off topic now.

Then let's get back on topic. I'd really like to know more about that quote:
"Tom Hiddleston sent me the riding crop."

Wow! I want to know more, too!!

Hmm ... interesting ...

Good grief, people!
When Benedict was 1st asked(years ago)what was the weirdedst present a fan had sent hm, he replied it was a riding crop.
He repeated this story over the years.
Then one day, when relating the story, he explained that one of his pals had eventually confessed that he'd sent it as a joke and couldn't let Benedict continue telling that story!
So I squealed with delight, at this final piece of the puzzle!

love it!
Poor Ben - he's so gullible
