Re: Benedict in Malaysia

That´s soooo cool.. I don´t have words. Love his expression in the first one..

And cool to see you, too!

But the poor girl from Thailand, I guess she brought this poster because she really liked him on it, so a tiny bit not fair.. still she got to see him in person, I guess that makes up for it!

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Thank you so much, Solar, Gently!!! You all remind me how damned lucky I am, and I'm really grateful for that. And to imagine we almost didn't go. T.T

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Aw, I'm sure he wouldn't have meant to upset her! Poor girl. Hope meeting him made up for it.

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Those pictures are utterly amazing!!

Such wonderful memories for you, I'm literally bursting with happiness for you

I saw the bit about the "bad" picture, he'd be mortified if he realised he'd upset the girl!

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

What I think happens with his hair is that when the Sherlock hair dye starts growing out, he'd have to have it "bleached" then coloured with his natural colour (hence the roots look slightly lighter than the rest, because there was less dark colour to strip away).
Then he's probably had it coloured again to keep it all blended in.
Probably another reason why he keeps it so short - so he can get back to its natural growth as quickly as possible - it's a miracle that it seems to be in such good condition, actually - he must have really good hair

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Oh, Polar, this ist just wonderful!!! I am really happy for you. Thanks for the report and the pictures.
(Isn't it funny how many pictures from the fandom are blurry because "my hand/ the hand of my friend was shaking so much?" Oh, I CAN understand!!)

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Odd, isn't it, Matt? Wonder why these hands shook so much... thank you everyone, I feel truly blessed. This is a memory I would treasure forever. It's incredible how much larger than life Ben is in person. I may sound really calm here, but in those moments all I could think of was don'tyoudarefaintdon'tyoudaredon'tyoudare.

So here's his autograph. Took me a while to decipher his writing, but well, that's Ben for you.

Just saw the 3-minute video on YT, it's hilarious someone at the beginning remarked in Malay, "who's this dude?"  We were conversing at 0:33 and 1:25! Can't seem to locate the durian bit though...

Re: Benedict in Malaysia

Thank you so much!! I shared this experience with you not from any intention of making you all envious, but to testify to the goodness and the warmth of the person we all love that is Ben. He was truly such a gentleman, signing everything and obliging all the selfies. I was completely blown away at what a marvelously lovely person he is, nothing like what we see on screen. Not a trace of Khan, or of Sherlock, or even Tietjens. it was...just Ben, and he was so much more than any of his characters could be.
