Question about 221C Basement Flat

Hope this is the right section to put this question.

I'm writing a fic and in one brief scene I'm focusing on the basement flat - 221C - but I'm not sure of its layout.

What I need to know is, when you go through the door of flat C, do you have to go down some steps to get to the flat?  That's it, basically.

Thanks for any help!

I will also check The Great Game episode but I think it just showed the flat itself. I'm also lazy and thought I'd ask first!

Would this help you? I'm not sure if the basement flat is included: http://sherlockology.tumblr.com/post/33292071531/221b-3d-floor-plan

Re: Question about 221C Basement Flat

Spiral, I don't think we actually see this, but I'd say yes, you'll have to go down at least some steps - otherwise you'd be on the same level with Mrs. Hudson's flat and that just wouldn't work.
And Mrs. Hudson's remark that she can't rent the flat out because it's a bit damp and that's the curse of basements wouldn't make any sense if it were on the same level as her own flat, I suppose.
