And he seems to think such thoughts on a regular basis, just think about all the times when Sherlock is working on the microscope and John ist staring at him in a similar way...

...and then think about the moment in HLV when John calls Sherlock "nurse". First Sherlock is totally irritated, but then he looks at John and it's quite obvious that he's thinking Oh, John, you're just perfect.

Yes, but Sherlock stares at John just as much, maybe even more, when John isn't looking. These two, they need to get their heads out of their pretty little a**es and wake up to what's right in front of them! Wake up and smell the coffee, as the saying goes.
