Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Not sure I saw that one, mrshouse, but a lovely idea.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, it was along the lines Sherlock practically saying: " This is my full name, name your child after me, thus remembering me while I'm going to my certain death." Should have bookmarked it at once.

Eventually everyone will support Johnlock.

I like that idea, too

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I always had the idea that it was more than just a joke to make John laugh and relieve the tension.

Oh. Like, duh. Do you mean that's why Sherlock told John that Sherlock is a girl's name, so John and Mary could feel free to name either a boy or a girl after him?  *wonders*  How in heck did I miss that?  That whole airport scene sets me on TILT, I guess I wasn't thinking. Thanks for the insight.

I'm afraid I wasn't even that charitable, lol. I thought it was just two dorky men being stupid. *smile*

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Tobe's nice post in the caption competition thread made me look for the origin of the name "Janine":

"The name Janine can be traced back through the French name Jeannine, which is a nickname for Jeanne, to the Latin Iohannes, which, having first been filtered through Greek and Hebrew, is the root for the name John."

Ta-da!

So it all leads back to the roots then ... somehow.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Btw, I am just reading schmiezi's "Crossing Bridges" and I am totally caught by Johnlock at the moment. It's so moving and beautiful! Is it a good sign?

It all leads back to John then, to be more precise. Always. It's always John. He keeps Sherlock right. John. John Watson.

edit: gently! It's a brilliant sign! It's paramount!

Yes to all this.

Very good sign, gently. I love the fic and had the privilege to read the new chapters even before they were published.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Big spoiler for S4:

I hope they will show us this wedding in detail either.

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?
