Anyway.  I watched ASiB last night for the first time in awhile and people who say Sherlock was in love with Irene aren't paying close attention.

When he's doing the airplane deduction and Irene is leaning in to kiss his cheek.  The moment he finishes speaking his eyes go right to John!  Did John hear that, is he impressed, did I do well John? .

How long does he sit in his chair plucking his violin not even aware that Irene is staring at him?  And when he does refocus on the world the first thing he wants to know is Where's John?

John is his anchor, his main source of validation and support.

As you saying this ... it really was that way!!!

The scene is amazing. Now please tell me another reason than love for Sherlock looking like that at John? Well, maybe it is not out of love but because he knows what will happen and that Moriarty comes between them and that he will have to leave John and therefore he is sad and looking like that at John because their life together may soon be over. Although I do not see any difference to love, do you?

I see companionship, as well as trust there between them. Whatever Sherlock thinks he knows or doesn't know about Moriarty and the future, he trusts that his friend John will never leave him alone. Sherlock has to be amazed that unlovable-him actually has such a wonderful friend. Whether or not there's romantic love there (I like to think there is, but whatever), that powerful friendship, so rare a thing to find in this life, is inspirational to see. Lovely.

And there is the very short moment in the hallway. "Ready?" "Yes." So full of meaning. Always takes my breath.

Yes, just two words, and yet so fraught.
Love that whole scene, certainly in my top 5 or 10 Sherlock moments.

Yes, well, but then look what happens in S3... Sherlock returns after two years and everything is different.

That was the writers' fault, lol. Why didn't they ask us how to write S3?? *smile*

Oh, we would have had lots of lovely ideas.

But John really, really believes that he's not gay, right? Gosh, he will be so surprised when eventually he realizes...

As I said, he is attracted to women and men. Maybe just to one man.

So you really want to talk about the wedding night? How indiscreet.
