I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Lovely comments, true!

Did anyone notice how ooc Irene's clothes seem when she meets John in ASiB and tells him that he is quite a lot in love with Sherlock, wearing high-necked and black? She looks like a mourner.
Now, these thoughts are a mere sketch, but before she was in white, nude, (and do we see her in black for the rest of her screen time)? Could it mean she knows she has lost the battle for Sherlock's heart?

I had never ever shipped John with any one but Sherlock but when Sholto showed up I found the idea of them having a battle field fling quite exciting.
