For those not watching Doctor Who: This is Madame Vastra, a female alien who is conceived as an express parallel to Sherlock Holmes. She appears as a female 19th century detective married to her female partner.

Went on Tumblr and came across this very interesting piece of meta, in which the author draws a comparison between Sherlock and Emelia Ricoletti.

Can I just say that I adore Madam Vastra, and her wife Jenny! They need way, way more time on DW!
And that scene where Watson and Holmes wait for the ghost... I can't deny to have thought for a few seconds 'Why don't you just kiss already?' I know dear Sherlock was very uncomfortable about the whole thing... but darn it. That was intimate!
And now my head is spinning thinking about the 'true loves kiss'... I have all sorts of imagines in my head!
just to troll with fans it could be so much fun if Ben and Martin got caught in costume pretending to kiss... but that's me.
