So then, for all fresh and not so fresh converts, a little pic... any hidden messages?

Hidden messages? Two men in a lab looking at trainers? No idea what you are talking about.
If, however, you combine this lovely pic with this video (which is really, really brilliant), then you might get some ideas:

Thanks for the replies and welcomes After reading some more on this thread and on the Johnlock debate thread, I think I've come to my personal conclusion that Sherlock and John have a very beautiful friendship, that the other characters assume that there is romance between them because they have never previously seen Sherlock have a close relationship/friendship with anyone and he's never shown any interest in women (or men) before. I think the writers are having fun creating the chemistry and sexual tension, but I don't think it's the endgame. The thought of Johnlock hadn't really crossed my mind until I read these threads, and it did give my heart a flutter to think of it, but I think for me it is mostly that I want someone to love Sherlock and stop him from being so alone and lonely. The scenes between Molly and Sherlock and Irene and Sherlock have given me the same feelings. I will continue my research into the matter
I realise this post probably belongs on the debate thread, but since I mistakingly posted on this one, I thought I'd just answer the kind replies here

There's also a nice thread about the greatest friendship in fiction where your view seems to be quite fitting.
Edit: it's here:
And there's a thread discussing ambiguous scenes in the show from perspectives of Johnlockers as well as Non-Johnlockers. I would love your opinion upon a couple of things there.

And since you're pretty new to all of this, ukaunz, there's probably lots more to discover, in terms of Johnlock and in general. You might not have seen everything yet.
And Susi, that video is just... absolutely wonderful. Makes you laugh and grin and cry all at the same time.
Scientific research at its best.

Here is another picture. Doesn't mean a thing, I know.

Romance with a 'B'.

I certainly don't see your point.

You don't...? That's a real pity. Or maybe... it's not.

Not a serious analysis, are you sure? I mean, it does say "because science" at one point ...

Tee hee, good one. And yes, science is always helpful in connection with seriousness.
