Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

But let's just hope this doesn't play out the same way the 'original' played out in TRF... because in TRF John was right, Sherlock wasn't a fraud. Hopefully with bromance, he will be wrong.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Gosh, I did not realise this! But no, after hearing that probably there will be no commentary on TSoT AND HLV I am quite hopeful.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I had to take a second look at it, to be honest.
But... I thought there will be no commentary on TSoT, but there will be one on TEH and HLV...?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Have a look at this:

http://www.bbcshop.com/drama+arts/sherlock-the-complete-series-1-3-limited-edition-gift-set-blu-ray+dvd/invt/bbcdvd4008

And I suppose they will not do a HLV commentary with Una, Mark, Steven, and Sue and not a single one of the leading actors/actresses.

The page doesn't work, but I'll have alook at the BBC shop later... but that doesn't sound too promising indeed...

I would be quite happy to have no comments on those episodes.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I have been hoping that they will do at least some comment on HLV - too bad.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I hope the reason is that they are not finished with the story and that it is deliberately kept ambiguous.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

But even then they certainly would have a lot to talk about... I'd love to hear something on the making of the scene in 221B, for example...

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Just found a meta I had saved some time ago - this is just a short part enlisting a lot of unanswered questions from HLV. IMO this is exactly what makes it so difficult to do a commentary (and this is not even including Johnlock):

"When Mary apologizes to Sherlock immediately after shooting him, is it genuine or mocking (nothing of the sort is ever repeated)? Did she call the ambulance, or did Magnussen (or John)? Did Mary intend to kill Sherlock in Leinster Gardens, or was she merely prepared for self-defense? Does she really believe the revelation of her past would hurt John worse than Sherlock’s death (after all she was the one who said ‘do you have any idea what you’ve done’)? Is her fear when Sherlock collapses for him or for herself (John looks murderous, and it’s him she’s looking at)? Does Sherlock believe she meant him to live, or is it only an act? We’re deprived of all the months between the confrontation and Christmas — there’s not even a post-honeymoon blog post to go by — adding ambiguity to both John’s and Sherlock’s behavior at the end. Does John genuinely want her back in his life, or is he sticking around for the baby, or because Sherlock told him to? Did he really not read the flash drive? Did Sherlock? What has Mycroft been doing? — his brother was shot and the shooter’s still at large. What did John and Sherlock tell Lestrade? Does Mary know something about Moriarty? We only see a manipulation of his image — is Moriarty’s return even real?"

WOW. Makes a lot of sense. Sherlock and John act not really like buddies, bros or mates, are they?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Not really. And my kids used to watch "Scrubs". I never got the idea those two could be more than mates. Sherlock and John however …

Is it scientific and serious enough?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

This afternoon on the way home from work I decided to stop off for a coffee and some "Me" time.
"Me" time being a large mocha latte and an Kindle full of fan fic.
Was reading a lovely bit of johnlock when suddenly my ears twitched.
Was it?  Could it be?
That's right...............

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd4j1Ms1VYE

Suddenly the cafe was filled with Our Song!

I could just feel the Johnlock swelling agressively in my heart.

Now I know the we try to stick to scientific study and evidance but I knew this had to be a sign.  A sign from the universe that Johnlock is endgame.

I almost wept with happiness.
