I Love This Word

In discussing HLV under that thread, someone mentioned that there seems to be some "distance" between John and Sherlock; that John is afraid of being hurt again like he was with Reichenbach, and so he's trying

"not to become completely 'Sherlocked' again."

I love that word!

Has it popped up anywhere other than Irene's password? Of course, it presented multiple meanings there:

- the phone being literally "locked," i.e., password protected, "It sure is locked."

- Irene was trapped by Sherlock

- Irene was obsessed with Sherlock

So it seems an appropriate word to use for obsessive Sherlock fan-boy-or-girling. Maybe for John's relationship with Sherlock? Especially in TEH, where he's had a taste of how much his involvement with Sherlock can hurt him...and perhaps he hasn't REALLY forgiven...but he goes back anway...

And could that word describe the obsessiveness we're talking about under the "You know you're obsessed" thread? (Your mind is "locked" on him, or on the show.)

I have actually seen a device, a lock, on the buses I ride, that is used for locking a wheelchair down to a bus. It was called a "Sure Lock" (brand name.)

I get the feeling some of the female fans are as much in love with the character as with the actor, but for those who like the actor...Benaddicted? Cumberbatty?

Re: I Love This Word

I think 'Sherlocked' is a fantastic word; You can be completely locked in by a person... your feelings for them can put you in a place you can't crawl out of and I think that's where I am at the moment.

I mean you can 'lock' eyes with someone, they can also have the 'key' to your heart...

And 'Benaddicted' Way better than being a Cumberb'tch...

Re: I Love This Word

I have got an "I am Sherlocked" car sticker and T-shirt. And I am feeling quite Cumberbatched as well.

"Cumberbatched" is the most beautiful word ever, in my opinion. Closely followed by "Bennylicious".
