Hey there!
My name is Maria, I am 34 years old, happily married (though my wedding ring is all matte on the outside on shiny on the inside, let´s not jump to conclusions!) and currently SAHM of two small kids aged 3.
Luckily enough I just stumbled across BBC´s Sherlock a week ago, the two-year-hiatus might have killed me. Being a little obsessive in character I have since watched series 1&2 several times, played the app several times, watched waaaay too many youtube-videos and browsed through this wonderful forum way too many hours. Needing a vent for my fangirling and having no one to share my obsession, I had to register . Still as the kids keep me pretty occupied I might not participate as much as I would like to.
What else can I tell about me? As my nickname indicates I am also interested in Japanese culture and language, as my writing (probably) indicates my English is a bit rusty so apologies for any mistakes and as my fangirling Alan Rickman (particularly as Professor Snape) indicates I might have a tiny bit of a thing for highly intelligent, slightly sociopathic, black-haired British guys in long coats with voices that can melt ice into puddles of happily sighing warm pudding. That´s magic!. - (Wow, that sentence took me some time .) - Ah, the guys acting all arrogant and mysterious, keeping all their feelings inside and finally sacrificing themselves.. *dreams* Well, it´s all very dramatic and stuff, and thank god I am so not above this kind of thing.
Ah, I should probably add that I am not shipping anything, though I fully understand why people would. There is so much sweet chemistry going on between all of them.. still it does not really work for me.
That should be enough for now, I am very much looking forward to participating in your discussions (and as I have been reliably informed there is also some amount of swooning going on? ).
Cheers!

Welcome, Maria, what a great introduction. Of course we do not mind. As for the swooning I would like to direct you to this thread
which comes with a big warning: This might be addictive. So take some days off to browse all 1,200 pages so farand have fun.

Welcome to the forum, Maria!
I think we have another Alan Rickman worshipper here... I'm sure she'll make herself known.
Have lots of fun now - have you seen S3 already?

Hi SusiGo, thank you very much for your warm welcome!
Yeah, this thread.. just forced myself to leave it after spending a ridiculous amount of time there. So thanks for redirecting me.. . Just kidding. And the sad thing is, still I know in a few hours I will be all like "I need some!!! Get me some!!! More Sherlock pics, puh-lease!!"
Interesting, yes, addiction..

HERE! It's me! Yes, it all started with Snape, but meanwhile there are other Rickman characters I like the same way or even more.
Welcome here, Maria, enjoy your time and have fun. Oh, I'm sure you will. As I can see Susi gave you the perfect link for that already.

@SolarSystem: Thank you, too! Another Rickman worshipper, uh? Can´t wait to get to know her, excellent taste in men..
No, sadly enough I have just seen snippets of S3 until now, I am impatiently awaiting my blue-ray from UK! Can´t imagine how it must have been like for most of the fans waiting for 2 years!! The cruelty..
Edit: Wow, you are fast! Pleased to meet you, Mattlocked! It is just the same with me, it all started with Snape but having seen nearly all of his films now I appreciate most of his characters and especially the actor himself.

Thank you, Davina, zeratul and Lily! (Nice name by the way, reminds me of Harry Potter )
Wuah, Davina, a riddle.. *rubs hands*.. unlike some I like riddles, I will come back to that when the kids are fed and asleep!

Hi, warm welcome, nice to have you around!

@Davina: Apparently you can´t solve a problem like Maria, unless you manage to hold a moonbeam in your hand?

Welcome, Zatoichi.
It is nice to know that other people love that Japanese stuff, too.

Thank you, Harriet, for your warm welcome!
@Criosdan: Thank you, too, actually it was you leading me here through your recommendation in another forum . So you are into Japanese stuff, too? Great to know! What do you like best? I also dig the Terry Pratchett quote in your signature, I adore the discworld series.. so it seems we have quite some things in common!

Sooo, I know you from another forum? I love the stuff concering the Edo Era. I read several Managas (Blade of Immortal is my favourite) and I even bought old undubbed movies like Lady Snowblood. (I understand only three Japanese words, so it is good the movies have subtitles, btw)
Since you wrote, you adore Alan Rickman, have you seen "Blow Dry"? I love that movie, even it's quite sad at some times.

Thank you, sherlocked4ever! I love your signature gif, wish I could create something like this myself!
Where do you all find those great pictures anyway? Seems I have some research to do..
@Criosdan: Yes, though you might not really know me well because I am not that active over there. The topic is interesting, but does not stir up my excitement like Sherlock does.. I´ll write you a PM!
I like Mangas and Anime too, though there is not really one series I read/watch regularly. I kind of stopped years ago, so I only know older stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion and the likes. Old undubbed movies are great, I used to enjoy three hours of undubbed "Seven Samurai" very much ! What are the words you know? I speak the language reasonably well (though not as good as I should regarding the fact it was my major..) but as I have close to no change of using it right now it all gets a bit buried.
And yes, of course I know "Blow Dry"! It is one of my favorites (although it does have its awkward moments imo.. but maybe that´s just me). I love Alan´s acting as Phil Allen, as someone else put it "there is only one man that can make a hairdresser with Yorkshire accent sexy.."

I can say Konnichiwa, Arigatou and Sayounara. But I can't read it in Japanese...
Do you know the Anime series "Queen Millenia" (Königin der Tausend Jahre)? It was shown in German TV 1991. (Now I feel quite old...) I loved that sooooo much.
Hi Zatoichi,
welcome and have fun.
I like your user name because I am also quite fond of the Zatoichi series. Have seen it in parts on German television and did some research later.
