will the cottage feature in series 4?

The one that Sherlock & Janine mention while he was in hospital? Or was that just a joke/reference in passing?

Didn't canon Holmes live in a cottage with bees when he was old?

Yep, he did. I suppose it is just a nod to Canon. IMO Janine's part is over. I have no idea what they would need for her for.

The cottage will be for Sherlock's retirement. I can't imagine Janine being happy with cottage life for very long. She seems like a city girl to me.
