The R Kelly-read-by-BC vid is up over a million and a quarter hits now. Was over a million by 48 hours from release on the east coast of North America. I really don't know how to measure these things, but isn't that somehow phenomenal? Asking, because I vaguely worry about his career, esp. post-Assange. Why does he always play neurasthentic damaged types (OCD, autism)? Or men who don't relate well to women sexually ("Scandal in Belgravia" aside, that's Sherlock too)? If this video gets him attention for its/his hotness, won't directors/producers take note? Why isn't there an article on the Net about the video's huge success (even if it's the same 10 fangurls watching over and over, as one says in this thread)? Or is there?
I'd like to see him play, just once (please don't boo), an early Hugh-Grant type role. Even the movies he's got in the works ("Osage County". "The Imitation Game") or in the queue ("Lost City of Z", "Mallory" possibly) don't get him out of 'type'--the last two, though married, are obsessed unto death. I'll bet even the "Madagascar" penquin spin-off he voiced doesn't have any scenes where his CIA-type gets the girl--or the fenguin, more correctly, I suppose. ("Oh, that's clever . . . .Is it clever? Why is it clever?")

I'm sure there is a romantic role in his future. You could count Parade's End as romantic altough I too would like him to do something light hearted. The thing is I utterly trust him to choose his roles. It's not like he's just after a paycheck so I expect to see him in a lighthearted romance when the perfect script comes along.
