Her interview with him at his parents house was also fab.
To be fair, she probably didn't want to ask anything too close to the actual episode.
But yeah, there was plenty of great stuff she could have asked about.
Wasn't it supposed to be questions from the audience?
EDIT: apologies, cross post.

Besley, you are right, that interview was fab! I really don't know what got into her today...

Ok I have just watched the video...thanks for posting it.
I do feel a little more sympathy for Caitlin now.
She is obviously mortified and is never gonna live this down.
The team handled the situation magnificently.

If I had the privilege to interview them, I'd come up with better stuff than that...

Personally, it was funny the first time I saw an interviewer bring it up...now it's boring, uncomfortable to watch and there's nothing to be learned from it. We get it, people like that stuff...move on. Ask them real questions that they would like to answer- don't stoop to the level of a Graham Norton for a cheap laugh at not only the people you are interviewing, but the people who are watching.
Btw, I have a great sense of humor and I don't take anything entertainment wise too seriously- but at least be original about it.
/don't read fanfics or care for slash
//have no problem with those who do, though

Seriously, can interviewers please stop making the actors uncomfortable? It is not funny to make them be ashamed of their fans.

I feel a bit bad for her now, after watching this, but I feel worse for Martin and Ben, as nice as they were about it, of course it is embarrassing for them in a way. It's just unnecessary and I am so done with the hedgehogs and otters and the odd fan fic parades. It would be lovely to actually focus on the show and its contents as far as the upcoming series is concerned. There is enough meat in that.

Besides all the unpleasant emotions that have already been mentioned, I feel terribly sorry for the author of the fanfic. I wonder if she agreed to having her fic read out loud.

I agree.
One fan girl on Twitter has already slagged Caitlin(not to her face.), so I hope that doesn't continue.
But on a side note...: did I hear Benedict call Martin 'sweetie' in that video?!

This has also crossed my mind. Just a bad thing to do, but I guess CM knows that by now.

Right, and I also agree with kittykat, it makes the rest of us look bad. There is some really great fan art out there, comprising drawings and fanfic and other things, but people like Graham Norton and now Caitlin Moran only every pick the embarrassing examples. They do it on purpose, of course, but apart from making the actors uncomfortable, it's simply not funny anymore at one point. If I see one more interview with a hedgehog or an otter or Johnlock porn, I'll break something!
Another thought though (and totally not supporting the point here): imagine having Ben and Martin reading out loud what you wrote... *dies*
Edit (due to cross-posting ): of course the author might be embarrassed because she most certainly won't have been asked for her consent, and then C. Moran also called it "clumsily written". But at least Ben and Martin didn't really make fun of it, from what I saw.

Ok that review above is now all over Twitter and other people are starting to criticise Caitlin...

NO,..........Just no. I feel horrible that our boys were treated that way and wish I could apologize to them personally.
I LOVE fan fiction. I read a LOT of it. I've WRITTEN fan fiction. But what everyone here has said is an absolute fact, IT"S JUST FOR US! And it's not what I want to hear about when I see my favorite performers interviewed.
Can we pool our funds and take out a billboard somewhere in London from those of us who wish to apologize?

Oh don't worry, hopefully it'll all blow over.
Anyhow, at least people are saying the episode is a treat.

I really wanna know how the reunion goes, but I also want to wait until the episode airs...
*sighs*

Dito!
The Q&A aside, the episode must have been absolutely amazing from what I've read (as we all already would have guessed of course). And that's really the most important information to have come through today!

I'm actually surprised that I didn't stumble upon some spoilers yet.

I actually tried looking for spoilers, just to see if they were there. Can't find a thing!
