And they really read the whole story? I'd expected it to be much shorter... okay, it's not that long, but then again for reading this after the screening... I'm surprised they agreed to do it.

I don't know if letting them read that fic was such a good idea.
But I love the photos that have leaked out so far and I also like that no spoilers have been posted (yet). I hope they keep it that way. I've definitely decided that I love the hear-say/ sort of deducted spoilers, which keep me guessing and nurture my phantasies, but I don't want any definite facts. We are very nearly there, I can survive the next two weeks (hopefully) without knowing, because this would truly spoil it for me, a bit at least.

Apparently it was Caitlin Moran who MADE them do it.
In other Twitter news: other fangirls on my timeline are going on about how Benedict and Martin are inseparable and this proves they're really in love...

I tend to agree. And really, who'd want to hear them reading out fan fic at such an occasion? I'd want them to talk about TEH!

Agreed! And I think the author of this review is right in saying Caitlin Moran has gotten herself uninvited for the next time... it is such a chance to host such an event, and she goes and does something this ridiculous, instead of delving into the new season! That's one wasted seat if you ask me!

Ah, well that explains to me something I saw on Twitter and wondered what it was all about...
Caitlin's a good writer, but I have always said she is OTT and I knew this close friendship wouldn't end well.
Besides, I've never forgoven her for insulting Richard Dawkins.
She means well but she just tries to be ' cool. down with the kids' and yes, plays to the crowd.
God I'm glad I wasn't there.
I may just have walked out...
Oh and I agree with the writer on the link:
I am sick of chat show appearances about fan fic etc....
I tell you.These boys are gonna get sick and stop the show..

Oh my..., this confirms my worst fears. I really don't get what that fan fic thing was doing int the Q&A, there would have been so many interesting things to talk about, so many great questions to ask!
And as has been pointed out before I think the fan fics should be treated as something that really hasn't much to do with the show, more like a parallel universe, the two just shouldn't meet imo.

Tbh, I am getting more and more pissed off about those interviews about hedgehogs and fanfic and Cumberbitches. I had hoped CM would be a bit better but is seems she is the worst of them all. Pity. Her print interviews were quite good. (Btw, there is a really good article about Benedict in January GQ in case you have not read it yet).
