Hey everybody! My name is Neptune Centari. I am new to this forum, but I am certainly not new to Sherlock!
I'm not a forum vet, in fact, it's been years since I was last on a forum, but I really wanted to reach out and make contact with other Sherlock fans. I do not really have anyone in my everyday life who is as obsessed with Sherlock as I am, so I'm hoping to meet people who are just as obsessed as me to have good Sherlock conversations with. I can seriously TALK about some Sherlock! lol.
So I guess let me start off by telling y’all a little about myself. I’m 29 (almost 30, *cries*) and I live in South Carolina. I am a dedicated Sherlockian, a hardcore Johnlockian, a loyal Cumberbitch, and a Zombie Killer hobbyist. I am just coming out of an 8 year marriage and trying to start my life over, hopefully for the better. I am currently working on getting into college for the first time in my life and I really, really want to go into Film Production. I absolutely love video and audio editing, it has become my second biggest passion, and I want to do it for a living. I do have a YouTube channel dedicated to making Sherlock fan videos, and if you are so inclined you can check them out. My YouTube name is the same as here - Neptune Centari.
Sherlock is most definitely my biggest passion of all. I have never been more obsessed with anything in my life, ever. lol. I’ve even been told I should seek out professional help! lol. But hey, I love it. Sherlock is my happy place, and I think there are a lot worse things to be obsessed about, wouldn’t you agree?
I love making videos, watching videos, reading fanfics and anything else that has to do with Sherlock. My absolute favorite Sherlock fanfic is The Progress of Sherlock Holmes. The writing of that story and the podfic are nothing short of stunning. Plus it’s Johnlock, and if you haven’t already guessed I am a serious Johnlock shipper.
Well now, I think this introduction has gotten a bit long. I’ll go ahead and wrap it up. I am looking forward to meeting other fans and talking Sherlock with everyone. Feel free to chat me up, I honestly do live by the code that “it’s all fine.” Can’t wait to jump into this forum and hopefully be welcomed with open arms!
Take care,
Neptune

What Wholocked said!
I myself am a die-hard Sherlock Holmes fan, have been since I was 5 yrs old, and immediately fell in love with BBC Sherlock when I first saw it earlier this year...and now, I am happily Sherlocked and especially Johnlocked ...as friends or "more than friends", I absolutely love those two .
Welcome to the forum! I hope you have fun here, 'tis an awesome sherlocked crazed place, hehe

Hi guys! Thank you for the warm welcome!
I actually first watched Sherlock about a year ago. It's actually a very interesting and very unique story. I flew down to Tennessee last November to meet a guy I met online. When I got there... well things didn't work out the way we hoped. lol. Though I knew what he looked liked, we had skyped many times, and I also KNEW he was on the shorter side (5'3" I was trying not to judge, you know?) when I got off the plane and I saw him I realized this wasn't going to happen. He was way to short and I just simply was not attracted to him physically. So here I am, far away from home, stuck for 5 days in TN with a man I was not attracted too, I had no clue what to do! I did the only thing I could do... I was honest. I told him that I was sorry but that it just wasn't going to work out. He became quite upset with me (that first night, I gotta admit, I was a little scared to go to sleep becasue of how explosively he reacted to me telling him this.) But all he did was lock himself in his computer room for the duration of my stay, leaving me out in the living room, on the couch, all alone. Well, I had to do something to occupy my time, right? He had a bluray player and it had netflix on it. I just started to browse and by complete and happy accident I came across Sherlock. I watched the first episode and was hooked from the moment I started watching it. So while he sulked in his room, I watched the entire first and second series while I was there. Was it fate? Maybe. But if it wasn't for that trip, and the fact that I just couldn't with him, I might not have found Sherlock. So that's my "How did you find Sherlock?" story, crazy as it sounds! I should also note I became a Johnlock shipper during the first episode. At the end of ASiP when Sherlock is telling Lestrade who the shooter was and he turns and looks at John and he has that "oh, there you are! I've been looking for you everywhere!" look... instant ship!
So how did you guys come across Sherlock? And if you are a Johnlock shipper, what made you frst ship them?
Cheers,
Neppy

A Johnlock shipper?
Welcome indeed! *hugs*

*HUGS* I love Johnlockians! I mean COME ON, you will NEVER find a pair of souls that belong together as much as Sherlock and John. These two very broken, very imcomplete souls find each other aginest all odds and they make each other whole. It's as simple as that. I will go down with this ship! <3
I have a couple of Johnlock videos on my youtube page if you're interested. But becareful, I don't skimp on the FEELS! Don't get mad at me if you cry! lol. Here's the link to my channel --

I totally agree with you! One way or another, Sherlock and John belong together. They really are soul-mates , which to me doesn't necessarily have to be romantic. They complete and compliment each other in such a way that you really feel the deep friendship, and I believe unconditional love (though obviously not conciously expressed), between them. Even though seeing them as a couple would be fantastic (and believe me I've pretty much exclusively read only Johnlock fan fiction , any other Sherlock or John coupling gives me the heebie-jeebies ) it isn't necessary, the bond that truly matters is the bond that's already there. I can picture Sherlock and John growing old together in an old English cottage raising bees and so forth, whether as friends or something else. Either way, I will always, always love those two
I just watched your "Ode to Sherlock" video with that amazing music by Lindsey Stirling...wow! I loved it! 'Twas so perfect!

Of course there's no need to be sorry for breaking our hearts , hehe. Seriously, some of my favourite songs, books, movies and fan videos break my heart ...it really shows that you've been able to truly move somebody, and that to me is a good thing. Even when accompanied with tears.
I'll be sure to watch your other vids some time soon

I could NOT agree with you more! I can't get into any other ships in this show at all. I only ship Sherlock and John. Mystrade actually makes me shudder (no offense Mystrade shippers!!) and I really can't see Sherlock and Molly ever getting together either. But these are just my humble opinions and I totally respect other people's ships. Remember "it's all fine."
Have you read The Progress of Sherlock Holmes? Do you have any fav Johnlock fics you can share a link too? I've read a lot, but I am always looking for a new good read.

Agreed, on all accounts.
And no I haven't, not all of it anyway, I started reading it while reading something else (not a good idea for me) and got distracted and just never got back to it. Ivyblossom is a good writer though, I intend on finishing TPoSH some day .
As for fav Johnlock fic recs...well...I don't know where to start! There are just so many I love, here's a masterlist of many Johnlock fics;
What do you like in particular? Might be easier to reccomend a few to you if I knew what you're looking for , there are also a couple topics that might be helpful as well.

Aw man you have to finish it! Check out the podfic by Cellar Door. She does an absolutely AMAZING job reading that fic. It's a lot easier to hear it read to you then it is to read it on your own.
Thank you for that link, I'll check it out!
What do I like? that's a good question. I'm open to a lot of things. I've read everything from simple smut to complete novels. I guess I really enjoy stories that aren't too far into the AU stuff. I don't mind AU fics, but I lilke the fics that... how do I say this... 'fit' into the already established storyline of the show. Does that make sense? But I guess all in all I just like reading stories that are written well. But I don't know if that tells you very much lol.

Hm, ok, well...there is one AU, that is very much an AU, but it is considered a Sherlock fanfiction classic and is incredibly well written and very much in character. It's called "Performance In A Leading Role" by Mad_Lori. Basically both Sherlock and John are actors in career slumps for different reasons and meet when they're cast in the same film. I wasn't a fan of AU's much either, especially ones so AU like this one, however I ended up loving it.
As for non AU Johnlock fics, anything by verityburns is really quite good
I especially like "The Road Less Travelled" and "Heart In The Whole"
Another good author is BeautifulFiction, she writes incredible Johnlock pieces;
The Stars Move Still (Slight AU, but very interesting), Electric Pink Hand Grendae, Midnight Blue Serenity and To Light Another's Path are my favourites by her.
There is also this really interesting one by Polyphony that I quite enjoyed;
The Best Of Times ^
Another good, slight AU series (John and Sherlock meet during their university years) I really like is this "The Faithful Compass";
There is also this series, the first fic in it is complete but the second is a WIP "Be Here Now "
Those are just a few suggestions, really there are sooooooo many...those are just some favs that leap to mind

Wow - what an introduction, Neptune! Welcome from across the pond.
