Well the 1 st, certainly.
The second: I can't resent John marital bliss...if this is what he has.

And I suppose to have them back in Baker Street it would be preferable if John were unattached.
Marital bliss is the one thing one very rarely sees in the show. Especially where John and Mary are concerned.

Ah, maybe he at least gets good sex.

Poor guy if this is the only thing he gets from his marriage.

Well, we don't see him having good sex - or any at all

Indeed. So not even that.

So it definitely isn't his baby, then.

I don't see any sexual attraction between John and Mary, marriage or no marriage, pregnancy or no pregnancy.

Neither do I. Playful banter in TEH. First hints of something not right in TSoT. Full-blown crisis in HLV.

So if it is John's baby, I wonder how they managed to achieve this?
And there is obviously no such attraction between the boys, other wise they would be doing it now.
So they were in crisis on the tarmac?

Sums it up rather nicely.

Ah, the tarmac. Right. Where do we see deep feelings on the tarmac? Who is in the big Casablanca-style farewell scene? Who has tears in his eyes? Who looks excited and happy when the plane turns around? And who looks shocked?

We'll see.

Uhm, not "We'll see." We've seen that scene already, right?

But I think that althrough you do not see beautiful bond between Sherlock and John as sexual, you must agree that what they share is special and that it is indeed love, no matter what form it currently takes. No matter whether it´s eros or agape or filia - those two men are made for each other and something wonderful will be lost if they are parted from each other.
That's the bit everybody agrees on. At various times, I've called it a beautiful friendship, a special friendship and love, so it's all the same words. I think that it's (for me) a friendship makes it even more special, because it's so unusual. People fall in love in the normal course of things and bond for life all the time. They have something different.
It's interesting that you mentioned that people have different views on Benedict's attractiveness. I think he's been deliberately made very attractive for Sherlock (I do think he's gorgeous anyway, but I don't think the way he looks in Sherlock is an accident). Even people who don't normally find him attractive can find him attractive in Sherlock. There seem to be so many references to attractive heroes, whether it's film noir detectives or Heathcliff on the moors. I'm sure that must be an influence - because he's presented as so attractive, it's difficult (for us) to imagine why John wouldn't find him attractive in that way too.
(Actually, it might be interesting to see statistics on who finds whom attractive and whether they ship them or not! My guess would be that most people would ship characters where they find at least one attractive, but I'm sure that's not always the case, and I don't actually know how true it is at all).

Lib@agree...they met...bleh..and only just agreed they love each other...thats the point of story we are at..there's no evidence that there will never be implied sex....its been very deliberately kept ambiguous..and encouraged though..b4 S03 I thought Mary would quash johnlockery...why didn't they?...why keep options open if not a plan?...if a plan..something is going to happen.
MGT..have put a huge romantic/bromantic spin on the usual SH@JW story...its modern..in a dark pulpy noir twisty way....we can only guess at the future from what is in the show so far......because with MGT the lunatics are usually running the asylum.
I don't see why they'd want to quash it when it's one of the attractions of the show! I don't think they'e shown us sexual attraction so far, but they could make things go one way or the other in S4. Not quashing it doesn't necessarily mean a plan - in fact, I think it probably doesn't and I'll tell you why. Because then the bridges would be burned and there would be no ambiguity. I think there's an awful lot of allowing people to see what they want to see in this show, and giving absolute, definite answers, would not allow that.

I agree with you. He is made deliberately attractive and John's looks and words (about the mysterious cheekbones) prove that he is not immune Sherlock's beauty.

Absolutely, Susi.

He could hardly not notice . I think the cheekbones comment makes fun of Sherlock's image (and that's the same episode with the Heathcliff thing - I'm sure it wasn't just me who saw that!), but they are very much a mutual appreciation society. And secretly proud of each of each other. (Not very secretly, actually).
(As it's J:ToB, no, I still don't think it's sex. Have you ever looked at a friend and thought "wow, she's so pretty!", or admired her, noticed her effect on other people, felt romantic feelings about her, or felt very proud of her, but not felt sexual attraction? I think it's that. Could be a male friend, but I'm trying not to muddy the waters for myself. I think it's sexual for [most of] us, not John or Sherlock).

Have to say it. The sex doesn't have to be good to get pregnant!
