oh well..

big fan. I consider the only acceptable adaptations of the great Sherlock Holmes is played by Jeremy Brett in 1984 and Bendict Cumberbach...ok and House (let's give that to the Americans). Whenever I see Elementary or other lame, wanna-be "Sherlock" adaptation, makes me want to make Like Sherlock and jump off a roof.
Also all this crap on the internet about Johnlock and Wholock...that's what people SHOULDN'T DO!!!! just go and read the books! please go...please!

Re: oh well..

Welcome, Cesar!
So you're a kind of purist. I think you may find some like.minded people here.
But there are also a lot of members (including me) who can do the one thing without abandoning the other. Where would we be if the Mofftiss hadn't dealt with the canon and made their own adaptation of Sherlock Holmes?  I dare say we two wouldn't meet here.
Anyway, have fun!

Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

I BELIEVE IN SERIES 5!

Re: oh well..

Hi, perhaps you will find lots of other-minded people here. Besides of the Elementary thing, of course.
Well, you will have to deal with it
Welcome!

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

Re: oh well..

Hi Cesar,
welcome to the forum.
I personally don't share your opinion about what people should or shouldn't do because IMO everybody has the right to have his own mind palace, don't you think?
That why I am looking forward to hear your opinion.

Re: oh well..

Welcome to the forum!  Personally, I don't "ship" anyone (just not my cuppa), but it's never bothered me that others do it...as long as they don't get upset when the actual characters in the show have relationships with other characters (because I've seen a few people fly off the handle lately at a certain character).  Anyway, it's easy to avoid the fanfiction...just don't go to that thread Have fun here!

Re: oh well..

thanks for the nice welcomes
don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have anthing against the whole thing if it were true. but I feel it's not fair to the characters. Sherlock says that all that matters to him is the work, then Moffat says that Sherlock wouldn't be living with a man if he found him distracting. Sherlock didn't notice when John went to NewZealand (according to John's blog)..all this add to the fact that they don't make a couple. why would the fans call Sherlock and John something they are not! tell someone gay that they seem straight and see how they like it.
I just appreciate and love their awesome friendship.

Re: oh well..

Hello and welcome to the forum, Caesar!

Let people have their fantasies as long as they don't force it on you.
I'm no Johnlock shipper either but I fully understand and accept that many people are fond of this interpretation. In our minds we can explore the things we will never get in the series.

By the way, your user name makes me wonder if it's a reference to an inspiring person in history or maybe even another TV show?

Greetings from Germany,
Mary

"-solve crimes?"
"Oh"

Re: oh well..

To be fair...the creators of Sherlock are essentially also creating Sherlock fan fiction, and Molly is a complete figment of their imagination

Hello and welcome to the forum Caesar (love your salad, by the way  ).

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Re: oh well..

I personally blame Moffat for Johnlock. He's the one who wanted more jokes putting in about people thinking they were a couple all the time. I don't really see it as much of a problem, just a bit of a laugh and as long as people don't take it too seriously it's fine. I am aware that some people on the internet DO take it too seriously though, like "OH MY GOD WE DON'T WANT MARY SHE'LL RUIN JOHNLOCK". You won't find anyone like that on this forum. We're all pretty mature and able to look at things from different points of view, even if some of us are still massive Johnlock shippers (just because).

There's also a large amount of canon fans on here, including myself - member of SH Society of London and proud! And yes, Jeremy Brett basically just IS Sherlock Holmes. He's totally perfect. Love him.

Welcome to the forum and a pretty feisty introduction. Like it though. Good to see someone with an opinion. Good good.
