I’d just like to say that we should savor these final moments of “peace” before The Empty Hearse airs. In 3 days, we will no longer be able to fling around Reichenbach feels the way we used to… another era of waiting shall be over, a new one shall begin… so let’s all just savor things the way they are right now, because I guarantee you there will be a small part of our souls that will miss it.

Wow, this is so... true. We should really pause for a moment because after 1.1.14 it will never be the same again (/philosophical mode off).

That sums up my feelings very well. Altought it's more the date 1/12/14 I am afraid of. As much as I am looking forward to the 1/1 to see the reunion, as much I am dreading the 1/12. When the end credits start and the realization will settle in that two more years of waiting are ahead, I definitely fear for my soul .

Oh god, yes, it's a shame it will be over so fast! If we only get three episodes every two years it would perhaps be better to spread them out over a three months period? I mean, just think of it: it won't be even TWO weeks and everything will be over again and then the next long waiting period begins....

Seriously though, it really feels a bit surreal right now and I'm sure it will feel surreal over the next two weeks. And then, when it's over again... I honestly have no idea how it will feel like then.
So, very true, let's savour those last few days of peace and 'routine', of all the stuff we've come to know so well since Reichenbach... things will change.

After all, that's what this series makes so special and extraordinary among all those other TV-stuff. (Well, that's what I try to persuade myself of ).

It's rather amazing that we can be SO obsessed with something that's gonna be over SO soon!

I personally wouldn't mind it if they made a few more episodes but maybe the quality would suffer. I just decided to see them as films, you don't get a LOTR/Hobbit or James Bond or Harry Potter every week either. And the fandom will make up for all the intervening time.

I'm going to miss this forum...chances are I'll go into my hidey-hole most of the time until I'm able to see the episodes myself, I trust most of you, but the internet is a fickle place...don't want to potentially run across some spoilers I would rather not have seen!
I am excited (and jealous) for those of you who will be able to see the episode on Wednesday! 'Tis so very exciting!
Of course, like others have said...once we've seen those episodes...another era of waiting begins!

Almost two years of Reichenbach hand-holding with fellow Forum members will be over, but a new era will begin. My fear is that Series 3 won't fit the 'head canon' of some of the fans and snarky, snarly discussions will ensue. It's so true that our expectations are at a fever pitch right now. Just stay calm everyone and remember, this is going to be wonderful entertainment. Fasten your seat belts, enjoy the ride and just go wherever Route Mofftiss takes us. The explosion of fan creativity once all is said and done will help us get through until the next.
