But that's not too old is it? Huh? Please? ^giggle*Very new to this fandom.
It all started back before Xmas when a friend and I were talking about the up coming Star Trek into Darkness, In commenting on the new villian my friend said "Oh, Cumberbatch is in the BBC's Sherlock. You really should watch it."
Found it on Netflix, was already fond of Martin Freeman and thought, why not.
That thudding noise as I watched the first episode was the sound of my heart hitting the floor. Raced through the other mere 5 eps and sobbed that there was no more!
Between that and Into Darkness it didn't take me long to go from mildly interested in Sherlock/Cumberbatch to full on fangirl crush. I've watched series 1 and 2 three times now. It would've been more but I do have a job. I knew it was an official obsession when I found myself surfing for Xrated fan fic on night. I already ship Johnlock harder than Mrs. Hudson. I haven't shipped anyone this hard since Mulder and Scully.
Anyway, I have scoured the internets for anything to feed my obsession and here I am.
Middle aged, married with 2 teenagers. Live in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Damn happy to be here.!

Hello and welcome to this forum, tonnaree!
One does never get to old for fandoms! Nice to have you here.
Enjoy your stay and make yourself at home. Kettle's just boiled.

Welcome! Sounds as if you're making good progress in fangirling. 50 is absolutely not too old, of course.

Welcome! There is no "too old" here, I think. Sounds like you are perfectly right amongst us.
Ah, Mulder and Scully. I've always wondered if there WAS iced tea in that bag...

Old enough to be your mum. Well, a young mum!
I saw my first episode of Sherlock on February 1. Since then, I have made four blogs, several webpages, two videos two Picasa webalbums and a t-shirt for STID. I have bought his work, found it in libraries and online, given it as gifts. I have over a 1000 pictures of him in my computer files. I am not certifiable as far as I know.
I don't care if I am.
I am: Proud to be Cumberbatched.
from Amazing Grace
I'm old. I pre-date TV. This is the finest actor, quite possibly, ever. And beautiful, inside and out.
Try this.

I don't think age is really a concern of many people here, don't worry.
Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here.

Good morning, tonnaree, and welcome to the board!
Too old? You? Not in the least.
You've found the right place.
Have fun!

Hello! I'm also a newbie here. I've been trying to nip my fangirling in the bud, arguing to myself that 27 is "too old". But I'm not convincing anyone and my love of Sherlock has got the better of me.... nice to see that you can still get carried away into a fandom at any age!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Be assured you are NOT the oldest person on the forum and anyway age is irrelevant!

There's no age to ship Johnlock

Ah, thanks everyone!s I really didn't think age would be a problem. Although my family does like to tease me! I never really got past that teenage hormonal stage. Good thing my husband's not the type to be jealous of fictional characters. *giggle* Or actors. Guess he figures those hormones have got to go somewhere and if he's in the vacinity...................

Welcome, welcome! Your journey sounds a bit like mine, except I stumbled onto Sherlock first. A couple of seriously late nights later and BAM, my muse hits me like a ton of bricks!
Great you are here, look around, you'll really get even more addicted---I mean, you'll really like it. This is a supergreatwonderful bunch of people here :D
(Oh and you may want to purchase and install a thudding mattress, like SOON! Trust me :D)

Hi tonnaree, I'm in the next decade up from you and don't feel old at all on this forum. I've met amazing people here; so while we may all be of different ages and from different countries, we have the love of this show in common and that makes each one of us highly intelligent, discerning, and amazing. And like you, I have a great husband who often enjoys the side benefits that come with my love of the show

Haha, it really made me giggle out loud when you said you shipped it harder than Mrs Hudson. She is a genuine shipper of Johnlock, ha.
Welcome to the forum, hope you can find a home here. We're a friendly bunch of all different ages and nationalities.

Welcome! I could be your older sister or something. Maybe. *shrug* Anyway, I'm quite a bit older than you. No worries about age here. I've been hanging here for a year or so, and I can very rarely spot anyone's age-- it's almost spooky how we all blend into an amalgamated group of Sherlockians.
Have you checked out the Johnlock fan fic thread? I started that a few months ago, and it's had more hits than most of the threads on the board. There are a *lot* of Johnlockers here. When I started the thread, I thought I was all alone, lol. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Also please come and check out the Benedict Cumberbatch picture thread. We all have our mattresses set up to fall down and thud on when we get overwhelmed by the beauty of His Fineness. Smelling salts, snacks, comfy pillows, I even set up a cold shower nearby where I can go soak my head when I need to cool down. It's a fun thread. We're a silly crowd, but deadly serious about the Batch!Beauty.
Welcome!
