That's the thing about art-- we can tell instantly who that's supposed to be, even though neither of them look "right". Artistic license and all that, I guess. But the image is absolutely gorgeous, and the "I am here" is a theme I really like, too.
 

IMO, if you do something like this, you should always at least try to let them look genuine. So here one could start with John's hair for instance. 

what I don't like at all is the "Manga"-style. Urgh.
