I have no idea yet what I am doing on the 12th, but count me in anyway, I'll do (nearly) ANYthing to be part of this :D
As for the location: maybe we could check which possibilities we've got for TV reception, and then see where it's easiest for everybody to go to? Like a vote? NRW isn't that small, either ;)
About the room size... what about hotel conference rooms or sth like that, maybe with TV? Aren't there such rooms? Maybe we could afford one for 2 hours. Or use a beamer ;)

Generally I am interested as well, but unfortunatly Hamburg - NRW is quiet a distance. It really depends on where we meet whether I am in or not. Why are there so little Sherlock Fans in Nothern Germany ?
Look like there are no Sherlock fans in Southern Germany, either ... NRW seems the place to be.

Oups, sorry for taking the wrong message. Thanks for correction :-)
Maybe we should have written the area of NRW we live in. I would prefer Düsseldorf area, but Ruhrgebiet is also an option for me.
Offline
I live in the middle of nowhere, about half an hour away from Bonn and Cologne.

I live almost in the centre of NRW. Ruhrgebiet is fine with me - as well as Düsseldorf.
Offline
I am living near Düsseldorf and Ruhrgebiet as well.

I'm not yet sure if I will make it but if so I can adapt

I live in Cologne. Open for nearly everything.

I don't live in NRW at all but as long as I can get my hands on an affordable train ticket, I think I'd travel to wherever you choose to meet...

Ladies, just thought about the difficulty to find a hotel with BBC One. How are your experiences with watching via Internet? Is the quality good enough? If yes we just need a hotel with good online connections, easier to find in my opinion, a notebook and I could try to get a projector from work. Is this an alternative???
Offline
Good idea. We could try to watch BBC and use filmon.com as an emergency substitute or the other way round in case one site breaks down. Tobe, you know about these things, what would you recommend?
Projector sounds good to me.

Just what you said, Susi.
And now the question is: Where?
Offline
I would suggest a city which can easily be reached by train or car, so if we go for NRW then maybe Köln or Düsseldorf?
Offline
For completely egoistical reasons I would say Köln, but Düsseldorf would also be ways better than Hamburg or München.

I would also vote for Köln, just because the train connection is, as far as I know, still a bit better than to Düsseldorf.

Everything is better in Köln than in Düsseldorf ...
(I have to say that. It's a regional thing.)

Lokalpatriotismus, right?
