    For once easy for us Germans. It is how we would pronounce it.

    I did swoon mightily when we finally hear the Dragon of sex speak.  But can we also take amoment to appreciate Martin's voice at the start of the trailer...........pretty sexy little Hobbit.

    Hehe, this is just how I pronounced it when I was little, until someone told me it was "Smowg", but you are right "Smorg" makes more sense.
    But I guess there is a reason for how it is pronounced, since Tolkien wasn't one to leave anything to chance. An older family member of mine studied in Oxford while he was still professor there. He used to sit in a pub and read out of his works sometimes. Otherwise he wasn't really approachable.

    Yes, I love hearing Martin's voice at the beginning of the trailer!

    Can I add that he looks really, really good there...

    He is just so hilarious! His humour is hilarious, his jacket is hilarious, the whole man is hilarious! I love him more and more...!

    And can I just say that I'm quite curious to hear more of Smaug's voice... in this trailer it sounded a bit too much on the computer processed side and a bit too little like Benedict... which is probably unavoidable. Just saying. At this point it does not really blow me away.

    ...okay, then again, his "don't be shy" is indeed pretty sexy.

    If you didn't know about the pronunciation, I'm very surprised. The name is said at least twice in the first movie, by older Bilbo and Thorin, possibly again. And the Comic Con video greeting, Ben says the name too. Please tell me you saw at least one of these!
