A lovely little S3 fix-it first time, very well done. The author is an American, I presume (she mentions not having it Brit-picked in her notes), so S/J don't sound British, but the emotions were nicely handled, and her Sherlock was a wonder. I enjoyed this, nice to read something short and smooshy.

I love words like these: Sherlock didn’t answer, and he didn’t move for a long time, building a towering crystal pedestal for the memory of John’s mouth against his hair.

Oh AG, I read that one and just loved it! Heartily second your reccomendation!
ATTENTION ARCHIE FANS! You must read this!
Grownups by Emmyangua
Something different. Told from Archie's point of view. The Johnlock is subtle but the whole story is very touching.,

Thanks for that rec, tonnaree. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from it, but it sounds fascinating and I'll certainly give it a try.

The first chapter is quite interesting. And telling... I'll give it a try, too.

So I had a play at the idea of separating the recs into genres and then decided it was all too hard...just so ya know ;)

No worries Wholocked. We appreciate you maintaining the list in the first place.

It would be nice but unfortunately not all the fics use the relevant tags and I can't be bothered re-reading them to find out! :D
Speaking of, I'll try to update the lists today

Finished Against the World and am very glad I gave it a read.
Now, just wanted to take a moment to praise MadLori once more. Lifetime Achievment was so sweet. How much do we love the world she created for her John and Sherlock? There's a good reason PIALR is one of the most beloved fics in our fandom.

I think we did not have this one before. Often sad but wonderfully written.

For those who need something cute and fluffy with little incursions of hurt and angst:
Albion and the Woodsman (54652 words) by Glenmore
Chapters: 50/50
Fandom: Sherlock (TV)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Characters: Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Mycroft Holmes, Mrs Hudson, Greg Lestrade, Molly Hooper, Mary Morstan
Additional Tags: post series three, Drug Use, Recovery, Travel, Postcards, parenting, Childbirth, Surgery, pondering, Mental Illness, Exhaustion, chatty Sherlock, Lonely Sherlock, POV First Person, Psychology, Parentlock, A baby - Freeform, Albion
Summary:
This story starts about a year after the end of series three. John and Sherlock are emotionally and mentally exhausted by their lives. John runs away, but it is likely he returns. We find out about two thirds into the story. Sherlock is telling the story, so it is likely he glosses over some things and concentrates needlessly on others. He has priorites. And a little baby. And a lot to look forward to, despite what he says. The story is finished; chapters will be added as they are edited.
It is a HLV fix-it, and the only parentlock next to Nature and Nurture I really enjoyed.
