Photos with him and fans are fine because it means he allowed them to be taken.

There are always borderline cases where it is hard to decide but you can usually see if a pic was taken in secret or not.

Benedict spotted at rugby match during Sunday. He was in a good company...

The redhead is Prince Harry?   OMG, he was so lucky not to have taken after his father in the looks department, but instead his gorgeous mom.  Who's the guy in the red scarf?

God Save the Queen, I presume, not some team song or something?  In the US, we put our hands over our hearts at the singing of the national anthem, but that prolly is a US thing?

Did Harry tell him he still wants his mum's ashtray back?

It's God Save the Queen that they sing, although Swing Low Sweet Chariot is always sung during the match. England won! Yay!

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Another reason I don't like sport, I wouldn't sing either of those.
I don't do God or the Queen...
I really should have that put on a tee shirt!
Regardless of Benedict's lifestyle choices...
Can we all at least agree that the UK has the worst national anthem in the world?

Swing Low Sweet Chariot?  An old-time gospel song?  Do you know why?  How cool is that.  Huh.

Beautiful music, though. It's the same music as.... what we Americans sing as "My Country 'Tis of Thee".

I think of our rather odd and difficult-to-sing national anthem as a great sign of our commonality, one of the few times when all Americans can stand up, sing out of tune, and unite in their shared patriotism.  Not so much a piece of music as an emotional and spiritual sign of our national bonding, the hard-to-sing music and strange lyrics from a bygone era be damned. It's just a national symbol, like any other. I hate it, when people talk about how it should be replaced with something easier to sing. Please.

OK, sorry for the foray into something non-topic, now we can get back on track.

It's an old Civil War era American spiritual.  I had no idea that anyone sang it anywhere else in the world.

Oh yes, I was taught it at school.
I actually thought it was earlier than civil war

I googled it last night and found a bit of info that said it was a negro spiritual from the American Civil War, which would place it in the 1860s.
