Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I hear the movie didn't do good box office, at least here in the US.  I'm waiting to watch it on DVD. Anyway, as far as this image goes, as usual, someone couldn't leave his eye color alone, and here he is with the blue eyes again. My personal pet peeve. Oh, well.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

He has been wearing contact lenses for the film. So this is no manipulation at all.

Great outfit. He looks amazing in that scene.

He definitely does.
And I did like this scene very much, as well:

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Oh, yes, that's a great one, too. And the scene with Daniel when he asks: "Do I have you?" It is moving although he might be manipulating him once again.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

It's funny that you mention that scene, Susi, because it's one of those which stuck very clearly in my head.
I found his "Do I have you?" quite moving, it was kind of a different side of Assange... but like you said, it does not become quite clear whether or not he manipulates Daniel.

Yea, the outfit is the main reason I posted this one.  And the angle.  I can't help that the long white hair always puts me off a bit but it is a great shot none the less.

So am I the only one who thought of Sherlock for a short moment during that scene? Baskerville.

The blue eyes actually are appropriate with that bleachy white hair.

I was sorry to read that the movie was a box office bomb on its opening weekend. As the movie critic for People magazine said here in the US, two hours of watching two guys staring at computers didn't seem entertaining to them. But that's okay, I'll watch the DVD when it comes out, blue eyes and all, lol-- for us Cumberfans, even in a bad movie, it'll be nice to feast our eyes on His Fineness, even duded up weird.

No, I was reminded of Sherlock as well.

Me too! And there was another moment where I thought 'Sherlock...?', but I don't recall it right now. I'll try to remember it when I watch it again on Wednesday.
But apart from that I was truly amazed by how... unique Ben came across. To me it didn't feel like anything I'd seen him in before.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

No, it was very different from everything else he has done. Not just because of the hair and eyes, it is something else. I think there may be very little to nothing of himself in this performance. And there is the fact that Assange deliberately hides his own personality and lets us only glimpse at what he might be like. And the next moment he does something which changes again our opinion of the man. You want to know more about him but cannot grasp his personality.

The stuff I read said he [his acting] was just fine, just the movie sucked. Not surprising, given the subject matter. And we know Ben could read the phone book to us, and we'd sit up and take notice.

I find the subject matter quite interesting, tbh.

Me, too. But I have to admit that "fandom" leads me to subjects which I otherwise wouldn't have dealt with the same way as I do now. (If you understand what I mean. Hm.)

I agree about the phone book thing. He'd make it sound interesting

Have a smile on a rainy Monday.

P.S. I guess this is about his natural hair colour.
