Lovely. He looks gorgeous in that film. Sherlock hair with side parting.
...and the white AG-shirt, sort of. Perfect!
I just watched the Pilot again and have no choice but to give you this...
He looks much younger and a bit softer in the Pilot.
As for the shirt - white shirts are paramount (as Arthur Shappey would say)

But don't you also think he's doing this because he feels kind of... uncomfortable? Uncomfortable in those talk show situations, I mean. I sometimes have the impression as if all this fuss and buzz about him is something he just hasn't got used to yet.

But these shirts have buttons already, do I see it right?

Oh yes, he looks definitely younger, and sometimes not really like Sherlock...

Might be. He also keeps touching his face and neck during interviews. And he recently said he was still uncomfortable with his status as a sex symbol. Might be playing coy but it sounded quite honest.

Buttons are there to be blast off. Ask Sherlock.

The curious case of the popping buttons. An all-time classic.

Could be also interpreted as displacement activity
NOT the buttons, the scratching

True. And understandable of course, if I were him I'd be at least somewhat uncomfortable too.

Oh, I definitely believe him. I just recently saw a piece from his visit to Japan on YT, oh my, what an entrance they forced him to make... and I'm sure it was forced upon him and wasn't his idea. He seemd quite insecure and extremely humble...
But then again he tends to be so funny and witty when he is in a talk show... well, he's an actor, right?

Even though I prefer the curlier haired, slightly more mature looking Sherlock...I still want to pounce him
