Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

From The Sun (the thinking people's paper)

"Ben has trouble with girlfriends because
he’s so like Sherlock
Says sister Tracy Peacock[

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH is just a bit too similar to Sherlock Holmes — he is so brainy that he puts off girls.

Tracy Peacock, the actor’s half-sister, has revealed that the star of BBC1’s mega-hit detective series is single again and says those whirring grey cells are to blame.

The 53-year-old — who has the same mum as the brother she calls Ben but a different dad — told The Sun: “You would have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him.

“I think that is why possibly he has trouble with girlfriends.”

Tracy, a picture frame restorer, added: “He is such a lot like Sherlock — he is quick-thinking like him, but not harsh.

“He’s incredibly well read. In comparison to some he is quite an intellectual.”

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

But then, it's the Sun writing, probably we don't know anything at all about what Tracy said

(Read your Sun comment only later, Susi, very true )

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I think it's a lot of c*** anyway. One of the disadvantages of being famous - everybody seems to be entitled to analyse your private life.

Something nicer than the Sun.

Doubtful, but of course (unfortunately) I don't know either of them.

What a load of claptrap. Sounds as though whoever the writer was took what she said and embellished it. Ugh. This is just speculation, but perhaps she, "a picture framer", has always been in Ben's shadow intellectually, and there's some history there because of it. He, after all, had the advantage of a Harrow education (something, I understand, that his grandmother made possible financially). And maybe the sister has always been overshadowed by that charismatic, smart, little brother of hers. You know, sibling rivalty is called that for a reason, and it's alive and well even among adults-- maybe sometimes especially among adults.
