I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

I know people have already commented about feels, and I love the little quotation you added to this nakahara, but when I saw this I couldn't help but think of my other favourite detective, William Murdoch from Murdoch Mysteries.  When he's solving a case, he will imagine the scene of the crime and then walk around in it to observe everything (unfortunately I could not find an image of an example, but it's kind of like that bit in the special trailer where we see the shooting and Sherlock sitting in his chair on the street, except there's not indication of him being anywhere except the crime scene and he's not accompanied by other characters). It sort of looks like Sherlock doing the same thing, watching the day of the Fall over in his mind.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Quite interesting observation, Yitzock - it really looks as if Sherlock goes Murdoch here!
