Very true, tonnaree. It's very subtle, but you can spot it anyway. It's like we can see with a glance whether it's Sherlock or Setlock-Ben.

Very true.  (and sheesh, you guys have been on par lately, just quiet lately in saying so!)  Love those!

It's like with the following example, though… just studiously speaking here (really!).      First one - stoic in-character.  Second one - Ben.  Character….  Ben.   Character…  oh, wait… expression nearly the same, for Ben-modeling-for-camera.  Not quite regular-day-Ben.  This might take some more study….   *thuds instead… partly an excuse to post those*

Just this morning you were all tiny and small and made of clay!

I'm working my way up the greasy pole.  It's… very greasy.  And…  pole-shaped.

My precioussssss Hamlet

Why does Hamlet have an old fashioned record player and what looks like a 78 record?  lol  Um, was this creative license or what?

Yes AG.  In this scene Hamlet is going through old things of his father's and listening to sad music.  The old fashioned record player is a nice visual.

As far as costumes and props you can see from photos that this production is a mixed bag.  Ophelia goes around snapping photographs.  In a couple of scenes modern handguns are used.

That production must have driven the Shakespeare purist traditionalists crazy!  Just as our Sherlock TV show, set in modern times, probably drives at least some of the Sherlock purist traditionalists crazy.

Student Sherlock with an index sticking out of his pocket:

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Joke. I think he was learning to ride for War Horse when that pic was taken. Not sure, 'cause it's been a while.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Not the most glam photos, but I love how he throws himself whole-heartedly into anything he does. And you know, Benedict on a horse....  there is that.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

He did actually ride already, he was just a little rusty.

I have the urge to jump into the picture and correct his helmet...

Then run before I do other stuff...
