Hate to say it but that picture looks quite recent - like he's been caught by a fan while going about his business.
I wish he'd quit too - my Father had a major heart attack as a result of his smoking
But Ben is a big boy and it's his business, I suppose.

I need to watch that movie [Third Star] sometime... so sad the library doesn't have it!
I couldn't find it either, finally ended up livestreaming it from amazon.com, for less than 3 dollars. It might only be available for livestreaming in region 1 format, not sure. Perhaps amazon.uk.com might have it in region 2 for livestreaming.
I'm not much of a fan of anything maudlin and tear-jerky, so I didn't like Third Star much, but I thought Ben [in spite of playing a character who was dying] gleamed like a newly minted penny in that movie-- IMO he out-acted and out-shone everyone else in the cast. Definitely worth a look for any Cumberbatch fan, for sure, and maybe your ears work better than mine, and you'll actually understand their rapid-fire thick accents. *smile*

God I can't pull myself away from here !
What's Conan like? I don't usually watch chat shows - hope he's kind to our Ben!
Conan O'Brien has a late night talk show here in the US. He can be funny and quite nice. He can also be a jerk. Whatever, as someone else said, A NEW INTERVIEW! Yay! As long as they don't trot out those stoopid otter pictures again, all will be well.

OMG I just ordered Third Star... I found it really cheap.
Oh well... a week without food then. Who cares about food when you have the 'Batch??
Btw what accents is it, Ancient? I LOVE accents! Even with my bad hearing...

Bad news ladies it's a repeat from December ....
But I suppose it'll be good to see again.
All deflated now..... Best go listen to that advert again...
Aww, damn. It's repeat season for a lot of shows on US TV this month. That's too bad. Oh, well, now I've watched it again on you tube [with Vietnamese subtitles, no less, lol], so....
Yes, The Thing in that interview was really on display. He 'bout scratched his right thigh and knee right off himself.

Yeah, my mom died early from smoking and my sister from second-hand smoke-- it's a tragic addiction. I agree, it did look like a newish photo, sad to say. He must be really hooked on the coffin nails; that's too bad. He looks so darned polished all the time, it's hard to think of him with that stink on him. Sigh. It is his business, you're right, but... surprising he'd commit a public PR faux pas as big as that.

Oh lawd!
I can't count the times I've been in DVD stores in this town looking for STID, just to touch it... just to be close to him. (Sadly somehow this country seems to have something against Benedict... not even ONE Benedict related DVD...)

Thank god for amazon.com and amazon.uk.com If it's humanly available, they seem to have it. I can't imagine what international shipping costs, but at least amazon is there, for those who MUST have a certain title.

I do most of my DVD shopping on Amazon.co.uk... even with shipping it's cheaper than buying stuff here! But well... as things are right now I'm choosing between food and DVD's. So Third Star has better be good!
Meanwhile I'll just sit here drooling at pictures of Khan and use my mind palace... or rent STID from the library

I'm gonna make the most of my remaining time here and spend it on this thread because it's the best thread on this forum.
Not sure if this will make any sense to anyone but me, but for what it's worth, I spend a bit of every day hiding here on the forum, hiding from my real life--- I know that sounds sad, but it doesn't feel sad, since almost everything on the forum is (to me) fun and interesting. I don't have a bit of guilt about coming here and spending an hour or so once in a while, and I hope no one else feels guilty either. I will never meet any of you, but you've become like a bunch of very easy virtual friends to me. Oh, god, now I sound crazy. I hope this makes sense! *hugs to rebecca*

The way I see it, life is short, and filling it with as many ways that make you happy is the most
important thing. It doesn't matter how that happiness manifests itself. It can be enjoying a nice mug of hot chocolate on a winter's day, or enjoying some time on a forum with like minded people, having a little giggle and some fun and some swooning. It's neither sad or crazy. If it makes you smile it all counts.

Rebecca if you're still "here " I just want to echo what others have said - this place is a tonic for me at times and I think for a lot of us it provides a beautiful bit of escapism from the real world from time to time .
I really hope we see you very soon - I know we'll miss you. Even if you don't feel like "talking" perhaps just nip in now and again to enjoy the view.
"Hugs" xx

At first it made sense for me to ditch all other sites/social networking and just stay on here, because I am genuinely happy whenever I'm here, but it's just got to a certain extent now where I think it's just best if I disconnect myself away everything, just for a little while.

I'll definitely pop on a few times, no promises though! I will really miss you guys, this is really difficult for me, as sad as it sounds but I've grown to enjoy the company of all of you, and is just want to thank everyone for everything they do. Xx
