Oh it was a he and English is kind of his second language!
I gave him a little intro, before it began(and explained things like Redbeard) so yes, I think he followed it ok...he enjoyed it at least!

Sorry, I misread your post.
That's good to know he enjoyed it. Do you think he will want to see more episodes now?

Hope so!

... When did Ace Ventura become a classic film??? A TV presenter just said that, when introducing it...
I feel old now...

Do they just mean the best of that type?

Maybe a cult classic? I think that term can be used for a film from the 80s and 90s.

I don't know... but usually if I'd speak of a classic film I'd be thinking of Marilyn Monroe or Elizabeth Taylor films...

Yeah, it's typically that vintage, but I think 70s movies can count, too.
There's a TV channel in North America called Turner Classic Movies and they air movies from the silent era up to the 80s (though not always actual classics, just old movies). Though I would agree I usually think of classic movies as being from the 1930s or 40s to 60s.

I worry about my therapist... she has no idea what Sherlock or House MD is.

Which planet is she from?!

I wonder!!

Lol you two!
Maybe she just doesn't follow a lot of TV?

'House MD', well, okay... if you aren't a tv person.. even I don't know of all the tv shows out there.
But.... but... Sherlock? How could you get to adult age and never heard a single mention of the stories/Doyle?
Offline
Sherlock Holmes stories in general, okay yeah, that would be shocking for someone not to have heard of them, but the BBC series itself...I really don't think it's so bad not to have heard of it, as popular as it is.

Today I was at a store with my mum and they just happened to have the DVD of the first series of The Hollow Crown on a shelf we passed on the way to the cash and it was a good price, so we bought it. I felt a little guilty, since it was an impulse purchase, but it's got actors I like in it, and my family likes Shakespeare, so I'm sure once I get the chance to watch it that feeling will go away. I'm not sure where my mum put it when we got home, though, lol. She had the bag in her hand, but the next time I saw her she didn't and she said she herself couldn't remember what she did with it. That happens sometimes, she has a lot on her mind these days and forgets where she puts things often.

Aww, I hope you find the DVD soon Yitzock, so you can watch it. I think you and your family will love it and not regret the purchase, it's really good!
