Yes. Of course I was drunk AND under the influence of drugs when I made that "flying saucer" comment. Aren´t I always?
Properly sober and clean people never see anything but clouds themselves in the clouds.

I was reading my journal and I saw that a year ago today, I saw The Imitation Game and the first episode of Sherlock. I enjoyed both very much, but I had no idea how obsessed I would become and that a year from that day just how much I would still love it and that I'd be such a fan of Benedict and the cast. I am sure the next year as a fan will be good, too.

Oh, that's such a nice find to make in your journal!
Oh yes, I am sure next year will be good for us fans, as well.
At the very least, it'll start very, very well

Indeed it will! Here's to my second year as a Sherlockian.

My Sherlockian anniversary is coming up too... though I don't have a journal to mark it... but I know it was the day they started airing series 3 in Denmark! I think it was 4th of January or something

This is a bit random, but look who I visited just before I went to see TAB at the cinema last week

Double cute.

Adorable otters! I do like otters!
And it seems like you had a fun time ukaunz! I spent mine with my family helping to babysit a 'drunk' dog... that was rather entertaining...

Are those hats and moustache inspired by Sherlock Holmes by any chance, ukaunz?
Also, the otters are cute. There's actually an ad running on TV in my province that includes footage of many animals, including otters. It finishes with two otters in the snow. The Sherlock fandom has made me extra excited about otters, and I feel like that is a very special way of being corrupted.

They were very Sherlock Holmes inspired for me Yitzock They were part of a set of photo booth disguises that my NZ family were playing with for New Years.

Didn't really know where to put this, so thought I may as well put it here.
The boss was in our office today and she suddenly said to me: just how good was Sherlock?
So I went into raptures about it.
She then turned to my colleagues and said: did any of you watch it?
Met with a chorus of 'No'
One of my team added, I think Bev's put me off, cos she never shuts up about Benedict and I can't stand him.
I insisted: no, you always slag him off and I have to defend him.
Later, we were having our break and the janitor was with us, he's Sherlockian too.
Well apart from his initial confusion, as he didn't seem to know anything about there being a new episode and had stumbled on it by accident..
I pointed out that I had been going onto him about it for over a year!
Anyhow he liked it, but he then started going on about how he's still not sure about Martin- doesn't think he's that good an actor. Then all the rest of them started chiming in, too.
So I had to defend Martin's honour as well...exhausting!
EDIT: sorry, forgot to say, my boss's observations included the following:
1. She's convinced Moriarty is alive, she thinks he's indestructible.
2. I asked her if she thought Mary was a real baddie and she said: absolutely not, she's a complete red herring...so we'll see!
3. She just could not get her head around the concept of Johnlock!
Incidentally, she told me later that she'd used me as a class example on internet safety.
She was telling the kids that it is ok to have virtual friends on blogs and things.
She'd said to them: Mrs Smith belongs to an in internet forum because she's mad on (and apparently all the kids shouted 'Sherlock!'), though she hasn't necessarily met all of these people.

So, most of your colleagues haven't seen it but everyone has an opinion?
I love those encounters...
*eyeroll*
It's similar with my Mum. She has been teaching English at school for ages and loves everything British and London and actors with dark voices. But she doesn't get my fangirling about Benedict. She knows nothing of his work btw...

Yep, that team member of mine- don't think she's ever seen Benedict in anything.
One of the girls was really getting on my nerves about Martin, because she's only seen him in a couple of comedies.
I did point out that you have to look at his range of work and at least give him the chance to prove himself to you!
Another workmate of mine randomly watched TEH, cos she was sick of me going on about Sherlock and of course hadn't a clue what was going on! I did point out to her, that was a bit like diving into the middle of a book and then wondering why you couldn't follow it!
Another colleague said her hubby had attempted to watch TAB, but didn't like the going between modern and Victorian.
The boss and I agreed that was one of the best parts!

That's too bad that there is some negativity around, but of course it's hard for people to get a fair impression of a show like Sherlock if they watch it from somewhere in the middle or end instead of the beginning, because then you are also trying to figure out what is happening.
She's allowed not to like Martin, but I'm sure it's still annoying to have someone around you repeatedly say he's bad when you don't think that.
Glad to know you at least have some people who like it to talk about it with.

Yes unfortunately my main Sherlockian colleague emigrated to Dubai...but I still speak to her on facebook.
But there are still several of us at work who all watch it.

So, I'm feeling a bit guilty (I'm such a bad Cumbercookie) that instead of watching Black Mass on the plane back from NZ, I watched Still Alice and half of The Theory of Everything instead
Offline
I still have those to see.
Offline
Probably the better choice, ukaunz, from what I heard. Get some screenshots from Black Mass, that should do

Yeah, Still Alice and The Thoery of Everything are both great.
