Thanks a lot, Davina, kittykat and Russell. Now I think what really startled me is the tone. I mean, John answers Sherlock's first two questions quietly and calmly, and suddenly a very keen "OH GOD YES!" That made me wander "did I miss something?" http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/nerdy.png

I am not sure if I get it right--In daily conversation, "OH GOD YES!" is usually used to show lust (for food or sex), right? Or I just watch too many sitcoms?

And the way John says it. It's kind of sexy...as if he is sexually aroused or something, isn't it? Do I feel it right? Or I just misinterpreted it due to the charming British accent? http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/confused.png

Thank you, Michele. Then I want to ask a further question. Is it normal for John to be that enthusiastic? I mean, doesn't John's response sound a little bit bloodthirsty or something?http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/confused.png

Again, English is not my mother tongue. And maybe that's why the lines in Sherlock fascinate me so much. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/love.png

Today I want to ask a SERIOUS question about John's famous line: "Oh God, yes!"...Is that a normal response in that context? If I want to use this sentence, when is the appropriate timing?

And please, please answer the question without shipping as possible as you can. Thank you. I want to learn proper English here, seriously. Please. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/lol.png

I have read the complete canon in Chinese when in junior high...and forgot most of it. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/lol.png

Now, after watching Sherlock, I am reading the oringinal version...now in the middle of "The Adventure of the Speckled Band". http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

(BTW, thumbs down to Twilight, too.)

But...I still kind of worry about the "BOW" thing....It feels like an ending. (Which I totally do not want to happen!)

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when you order Egg Benedict for brunch everyday.

(And I just found out that National Eggs Benedict Day is on April 16.http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/cool.png

Thanks. I know it is a joke. That's why Martin is soooo adorable. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/cool.png

I just want to make sure that when people say "That's a bit rude," usually means "That's a bit rude of you." (According to sj4iy)

Do I get it right?

Sorry, I'm not sure if it is okay to post the question here. I got a question when I read this article:  How Tim from The Office found real love: Amanda Abbington on life with Martin Freeman

Because English is not my mother tongue, I don't quite get the meaning of what Martin said, "You left and I wasn't done flirting with you. That's a bit rude."

Who's rude? Martin himself? Or he jokingly accused Amanda of leaving early?

I lost count, too.

Usually, I play Sherlock's DVDs randomly while getting dressed, tying hair, checking schedules, checking emails, keeping diaries, reading, translating, cleaning...basically anything I can do in front of my laptop.

Actually, I managed to get the mp3 files of the six episodes and transfered them to my smartphone. So I can listen to Sherlock while waiting for buses, taking MRT, jogging, roaming...basically anything I can do safely without proper hearing.
