He was badly used in this one!
Mark can speak well, but he can also speak with his native Durham accent.

From 2004, Murder at The Vicarage.
Everybody is in it!
Mark plays a vicar...again!

Just watching this episode from 2010...first aired 6 months before Sherlock!
He plays a gay, whisky priest-
great role and it's a good one.
Oh, it's called The Sword of Guillame.

Heads up to Brits:
this is being shown here on BBC2 10PM, Sunday.
I will be  in bed(and hopefully asleep!) but am recording it.
I forgot all about my first post on this...
I never saw it, then.

Dipped a toe in yesterday...sort of!
Well, I scrolled right to the end of my TV guide and found a Eurovision show:
Well it was the best of the last 20 years.
I go to the third song, the Russian grandmothers and turned off!

Apparently it's because the National has lost its sponsors.

Saw this last night.
Ian wrote and starred in it.
Mark directed it.
Another comedy, though not dark, like Moffat's The Unfriend.
Incidentally, Mark stars in a new show next week.
He is to take the role of Gielgud, in the new play about Burton/Taylor.
It will air at The National Theatre, but unfortunately I will be back in Scotland.

Last night, I enjoyed watching Amanda in this play.
Written by Steve and directed by Mark.
I am off to see Ian and Mark tonight.

Well I expect he is still trying to sell, but plodding on.
Fairly quiet today, but the staff assured me that was because of people clearing off for the weekend.
I should really post regarding my Sherlock related theatre trips...

Here I am again, with my twice yearly report:
Speedy's still there, with its memorabilia.
Continues to both attract Sherlock tourists and serve yummy food.
Chris, the owner, seemed quite chirpy.
I said I hoped to see him again on my next London trip, in 6 months time.

Actually you made me think of something else, that I hadn't really thought of before...
the other link with current, raging conspiracy theories.
I suppose the recent batches are on Climate change and Covid.
Or maybe I am the only one, who visits sites filled with flat earthers and Illuminati nuts!

I read this in bed earlier and had a real quandry about replying.
I don't really want to open the old wounds...
but it does remain very raw for me.
But if I could attempt an answer in at least a few parts.
Possibly get my rants over and try and respond to at least one point!
Bottom line was, the topic raised the head of the worst side of the fandom.
I was just discussing the issue with my youngest, recently.
I now actually view the Johnlock fury, as my first view of this horrible, modern world we are now in:
you know, either the woke or broke thing.
Very much driven by the media and social media in particular of course.
But it belongs to  those with an arrogant sense of entitlement, who simply cannot accept when they are wrong and even apologise.
It is so tribalistic and everything is seen in simplistic terms of black/white, right/wrong and you are either a goodie or a baddie.
Specific to the Sherlock fandom: if you weren't a Johnlocker, you were a homophobe...I won't fill in the dots for people, of how that echoes with some current views surrounding sexual politics.
But it dehumanises, is unhelpful and is just plain vile.
Anyway, all of that said:
well at least this particular contributor has the grace to accept that she was wrong about the intention of the show.
Further, yes, taken in isolation and certainly at the beginning...
(to borrow from John)it's an easy mistake to make.
But not only as the show developed, we also had interviews with the team to prove the opposite...but of course, they were all liars.
Then when the Mob didn't get what they wanted: well, it's just because the team 'did it wrong' and were queerbaiting.
I honestly don't know how people can think this kind of behaviour is acceptable...
the biggest irony is that the Johnlockers just really were not paying attention.

Likewise and it will remain my fave TV series...
none has ever affected me so much.
Oh I have been watching Yasmine on Richard Osman's House of Games this week...
there was a question about Andrew Scott,
She dived in with the answer, I think she's a fan!

Funny that the throwing out of the window one, didn't bother me at all...
the worst for me is listening to Mark and Steven on the commentary, laughing at the execution of CAM.
Anyhow, by coincidence, we are having the same discussion of Louis Moffat on my other Sherlock Forum!

Er, that isn't Louis Moffat...

AH, it all becomes clear.
I recognised him as well...
checked and of course the name threw me.
So thanks for allowing me to sort that out.
He's very good.

Can't remember if I messaged about this before, or where I put it, if I did.
I was all positive then:
cafe seemed to have changed hands, still some of the same staff and all of the Sherlock photos still there..
However, I have just had a return visit,
I was surprised to see Chris, the original manager/owner there.
So when he brought my coffee, I expressed this.
It was one of those, I almost wish I hadn't asked moments.
But I did feel sorry for him.
He absolutely poured his heart out:
is desperate to sell, cannot find a buyer and is losing money.
He is working extra hours, just to try and keep his head above water...
so it seemed  a bit insensitive to ask about the memorabilia, if he does sell!

Any Brits watching this new BBC production?
Created and written bt Steven, produced by Sue and directed by good ole' Paul McGuigan.
Also starring David Tennant, for those who consider him the best Doctor...
fine actor, anyway.
The rest of the cast is top class, too.
A thoughtful show, of course.
I really watched it  to see the dedication to Beryl, at the end!
