I have read this one some time ago and loved it. I would recommended "Two years as your interpreter" by prettyvk. One of the very few fics where I've read the end early because I could not stand the tension. It is not what I usually read but it's brilliant.

I think it also fits well with the theme of friendship in that episode in particular, and the theme of Sherlock choosing to be alone.I think it fits the topic of unrequited love. :-)

I feel like that about many scenes. Sherlock leaving the wedding for example.

Personally, I think it belittles the writers' Imagination to say there are no stories left for interesting arches. They are clever fan boys, they will come up with something.
