Why does John not know how to kill a person?
He knows. He just has a conscience - and a human heart.

I find it really difficult to understand that they placed so much importance on Mary's past in HLV and then, in S4, the only thing we get is the Tbilisi incident in which she was a victim. There was nothing about it that could have stopped John from loving her. Can anyone explain this?
No.

Not a headscratcher but a nice observation - there is a "veiled bride" in Tbilisi:
This is intetesting.
And it made me stumble over your post about women's perfume mentioned on the show. Your article ends with TAB. Is there no perfume mentioned in S4?

I spent the last three days thoroughly engrossed in this: The Frost is All Over. It's a teenlock AU set in the Dickensian era: Sherlock is the son of an Earl, and John works as a horse groom for his family. I am usually not a huge fan of non-contemporary fiction, but I decided to give this a try and I fell in love with the story within a few pages. The friendship-to-love arch between the boys is heartwarming, and the plot makes the fic a real page turner. Very recommended!
PS: Does anyone have any other teenlock good rec around? Other than Saving Sherlock Holmes, which I already read and adored. Thanks!
I have read this one some time ago and loved it. I would recommended "Two years as your interpreter" by prettyvk. One of the very few fics where I've read the end early because I could not stand the tension. It is not what I usually read but it's brilliant.

"John isn’t scared of Sherlock or of the adults around them. But he is scared of this Message. He is scared he’ll be there, in two years, right next to Sherlock, watching and unable to do a damn thing when he dies.
Because the true Message was, “Don’t expect to make a career out of this interpreter thing. I’ll die in two years.”
For the first time in his life, John wishes he’d never taken the Cassandra Tests."

For me the tarmac scene is the one which makes least sense without Johnlock. The stag night and the end of TSoT are close followers but the tarmac is so heartbreaking and intense that for me it cannot be explained by friendship alone, be it as deep as it may.
And if you look closely you can see that Sherlock/Benedict is starting to say something else than "Sherlock is actually a girl's name" and then changes his mind. The man knows how to act after all.
He does indeed.

Moftiss have openly said that Sherlock leaving the wedding is a reference to the end of The Green Death Doctor Who series. (Where the Doctor's companion gets engaged, and he leaves the party alone).
I think it also fits well with the theme of friendship in that episode in particular, and the theme of Sherlock choosing to be alone.
I think it fits the topic of unrequited love. :-)

Same here. I have no explanation for this except Johnlock. The same hieß btw for the tarmac scene aka Casablanca aka Bodyguard. 😉
I feel like that about many scenes. Sherlock leaving the wedding for example.

Personally, I think it belittles the writers' Imagination to say there are no stories left for interesting arches. They are clever fan boys, they will come up with something.
