The Final Problem » Questions about TFP » January 16, 2017 3:01 am

1. Who did Sherlock text at the end???!!!!!!!??
2. My brain is in knots with the whole Eurus/little girl on plane/ Eurus at island/ Eurus at house thing. I kind of get it, just a lot to take in
3. Mycroft in the room where Sherlock had to choose between Mycroft or John: I'm guessing Mycroft was trying to egg Sherlock on and shoot Mycroft instead of John? Right? Just wanted some confirmation from other fans
4. Did Sherlock actually mean the "I love you"? Personally, I think he was hesitant and maybe didn't really mean it the first time he said it... but, then the second time he said it, I actually think he meant it. Whether it was perhaps romantically, or as friend, no idea. But, I think he meant it to some degree.

I have other questions, just can't remember them right now. Need to rewatch it, after I'm out of shock!

The Final Problem » the red letter at the end of the credits- AN EM IO » January 16, 2017 2:52 am

So, this episode also had red letters at the end of the credits... American only, as far as I know. This is what the red letters/words (?) are:

AN EM IO

My buddies and I searched, and this is what we came up with:
It could be the word "Anemoi," Greek for "winds."
From Wikipedia on Anemoi- "wind gods who were each ascribed a cardinal direction from which their respective winds came (see Classical compass winds), and were each associated with various seasons and weather conditions."
The Anemoi were the four greek winds: "The four gods were Boreas (North Wind), Notus (South Wind), Zephyrus (West Wind) and Eurus (East Wind)"
Anemoi are also called "Venti," which if I remember right is the Roman word for them.

Another thing could have been the "Anemoi Thuellai"
"They were the spirits of the violent storm-winds, They were kept locked away inside the floating island of "Aiolos (Aeolus)" and released at the command of the gods to wreak their havoc." Yeah, sound famaliar? Eurus on an island, let loose to wreak havoc? And she's one of the winds?
So, yeah. Crazy. My brain is going in circles with the whole episode, my heart is crying over the ending (so beautiful, but so worried!), and I'm pretty sure I have a couple gray hairs from all that. My throat hurts from yelling and screaming in shock so much...

Guys... I was right about the red letters spread through out the end credits being important! Yes! TST end credits spelled "THE SIX NAPOLEONS."
The Lying Detective spelled this: "ONCE MORE UNTO THEBR (HEBR???) EACH"
The fourth word just didn't make any sense, but I'm looking into it. The other words defiantly are right, I double checked names. If anyone has a clearer image of the fourth word, that would be awesome.
And oh, I love you guys! So many theories were actually correct! I got my guess on Sherrinford being a sister right, bus stop lady and Culverton's daughter same person right, the therapist lady being bad at end, and so many more! This episode was insane... AND THE WHOLE MISS ME TOO, AND CULVERTON QUOTING MORIARTY WHEN MORIARTY SAID HE WAS A BIG FAN OF SHERLOCK'S. AAAHHHH.

I RESEARCHED. NEVER MIND I GOT I GOT YES. IT'S "ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH"
MOFTISS SPLIT THE WORD UP, THAT'S WHY IT WAS SPELLED WEIRD. OH MY GOSH.

Okay! So, this line comes from Shakespeare's play "Henry V." As quoted by Wikipedia: "It tells the story of King Henry V of England, focusing on events immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years' War." The full sentence is said by King Henry V:
"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead."

This speech is said when King Henry V is "rallying his troops to attack a breach, or gap, in the wall of an enemy city."
But that's only part of a super long speech by King Henry V, where some of Henry's lines relate scarily, or could relate, to Sherlock series 4. GO READ IT NOW. That whole line really scares me though, it sounds so final... like Sherlock getting everyone to "go into battle," so to speak. Sounds very final to me.

Sorry, last thing: for those of you who didn't watch it v

Red letters spell words and phrases. Apparently, they only showed up in the American end credits? I posted all this in the "first impressions" thing, but, I though it deserved it's own thread;

Ah shoot, that stinks. Sorry about that. It was an amazing episode though, quite emotional and insane.

The Six Thatchers » TST Headscratchers » January 6, 2017 7:01 pm

I know someone's probably already mentioned this on the forum, but I watched TST till the very end, after the credits and all that were over... cause you never know, right? But during the credits there were random red letters, and they spell "SIX NAPOLEONS." I know that this case was based off of Doyle's story, but did Moftiss randomly put it there just because? But in my opinion, Moftiss doesn't do stuff "just because," they always have a purpose. Can't really see the purpose for this though. I might just be speculating too much.

The Six Thatchers » So what's in the note? » January 6, 2017 6:48 pm

Just to clarify: did Sherlock actually delete John's texts? About bus stop lady? Where is that at in the episode? It just sounds from the way that you guys are phrasing it that Sherlock's been deleting the text messages between Elizabeth and John.

The Six Thatchers » First impressons and discussions » January 3, 2017 3:12 am

I don't know if someone's already said this: I watched it for the second time today (and of course I cried even more}, and I just noticed that John popped his coat collar in the scenes with Toby My adorable babies! Honestly, this show

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or not, it might. Every time I see an official BBC promo, setlock, clips, etc. with Sherlock texting on his phone, I can't help but dwell on that every single time. The telegram about Rosie Watson's birth said something about Sherlock texting all the time. And in short clips recently, like the clips involving Rosie's christening, Sherlock is texting and not looking around at all? Curious as to other people's ideas, theories, and comments on this (:

A question for people who follow the soundtrack thread: can you really deduce what's going to happen from the titles? I'm not asking for examples of course, just a non-spoilery yes or no answer

Personally, I've never been able to deduce from the soundtrack titles. I really don't think anyone is able to, either. Of course, there's maybe that one song, but that's really it. Afterwards, though, it's like "oh yeah, I see it now, it's so obvious."
